If you are watching CNN or CSPAN right now you can see the levels of delusion at which the Republican hacks in Congress suffer.

Oh yeah, and there sure are a lot of Democrats reinforcing this "Republican delusion."

Current Mood: | MoveOn.org Calls Petraeus a Traitor Quote: MoveOn.org Calls Petraeus a Traitor Do Democrats in Congress agree?

Tomorrow--as General David Petraeus provides his Iraq assessment to Congress--the antiwar group MoveOn.org is running a full-page advertisement in the New York Times under the headline: "General Petraeus or General Betray us? Cooking the books for the White House."
Let's be clear: MoveOn.org is suggesting that General Petraeus has 'betrayed' his country. This is disgusting. To attack as a traitor an American general commanding forces in war because his 'on the ground' experience does not align with MoveOn.org's political objectives is utterly shameful. It shows contempt for America's military leadership, as well as for the troops who have confidence in him, as our fellow soldiers in Iraq certainly do.
General Petraeus has served this country for over 35 years with honor, distinction, and integrity. And this is not just about General Petraeus. After all, if General Petraeus is "cooking the books," then the entire military chain of command in Baghdad, and all the staff, military and civilian, who have been working with General Petraeus are complicit, since Petraeus did not write his report in isolation. They are all, apparently, 'betray[ing] us.' MoveOn.org Calls Petraeus a Traitor | The sheer treasonous attitude of the left is really quite apalling, they share talking points with Osama bin-Laden, they are running on the foreign policy objectives of al-Qaeda, they are the propaganda arm of our enemies, everything they do they do it because they hate this country and wish us to fail at every turn, good news for the U.S. means bad news for them. |

Current Mood: | Re: MoveOn.org Calls Petraeus a Traitor Facts just ruin your day, don't they? If the admin wants an end to "treasonous" speech then perhaps they need to have a strategy that is effective, honesty as to the facts instead of spin and lies, and a modicum of credibility at this point would help also. Since your loving leadership has soiled its own bed; I see no reason to feel sorry for the crap that they sleep in. |

| Yes, they did. They gave the pres what he asked for so he couldn't blame congress for all this BS. Had they not approved him, and some other general got the part who said that the surge wasn't working; I have no doubt you would be saying that he was puppet of Congress and that Betrayus should have been confirmed because he could've made the surge work. |
