Guard Uses Taser on Man Holding Newborn

Video of this has been on all the TV stations here in Houston. What kind of security guard would taser a man with an infant still in his arms, causing the newborn infant to fall on his head?

Article is here.

OMG! We need to ban tazers! Tazers hurt newborns! Your own article proves it! So unless you support hurting newborns you'll support banning tazers!

I don't understand why you support hurting newborns , but I see right through your anti-newborn clap-trap and revisionalist linguistic hyperbole.

People don't hurt people, Tazers hurt people, and pencils misspell words, everyone knows this including you; so I don't know why you insist on lying. Please stop misrepresenting the story by introducing facts.

LOL. I see your point. We need to ban pencils before they ruin the English language.

Re: Guard Uses Taser on Man Holding Newborn

Knowing this...

'The elevators would not move because wristband sensors on each baby shut them off if anyone takes an infant without permission.'

I would say the guard over stepped his bounds and used excessive force in this situation.

This is a crazy a$$ story. I bet that the taser itseslf hurt the baby more than the fall. It's very unlikely that a baby would be hurt from being dropped a short distance.

Re: Guard Uses Taser on Man Holding Newborn

What kind of idiot tazers a guy holding a newborn child? I'm not a doctor, but I was under the impression that newborns were more vulnerable than most others and that falling on their heads could cause serious damage...

Seriously though, we know this:
  • The guard is an off-duty cop, not just some Joe Shmuk. That means that he has extensive training in crisis situations like this and that we can trust his judgment.
  • The guard could not confirm that the man claiming to be the father was in fact the father and not just some kidnaper claiming to be the father;
  • The man claiming to be the father was threatening the guard;
  • The man claiming to be the father WAS THREATANING THE NEWBORN.

I support the guard.
