The Department of Justice reportedly is holding meetings discussing the White House’s options for enacting regulations on its own or through adjoining agencies and departments. “Administration officials said talk of executive orders or agency action are among a host of options that President Barack Obama and his advisers are considering. “

That also matches up with Obama’s approach on … nearly everything, it seems. Regulatory adventurism has been a hallmark of every other Obama priority, whether it be health care, financial-services reform, labor policy, and now on gun control. When his agenda is too radical for Congress, Obama simply plans to bypass Congress and rule by decree.
Obama: We’re working on gun control “under the radar” « Hot Air

Our Lord and King, Barack H. Obama II, has thus spoken, all hail the O.

This doesn't surprise me. Over the past century Congress has handed more and more and more power over to the Executive branch, and each President has used more and more and more of that power.

Obama's a fan of gun control. He's trying to figure out how to use the power of his office to enact his gun control agenda.

I'd be interested to see what kind of acrobatics would be required, seeing as how I thought the vast majority of Federal restrictions on guns originate in Congress.

I'll tip my hat to the new Constitution, take a bow for the new Revolution...
Pick up my guitar and play...
Just like yesterday...

And I'll get on my knees and pray.... we don't get fooled again!

Well, if he plans an Executive Order, maybe it's time a President's right to Executive Orders gets challenged -- and most certainly it would be. Rock on, Obama, rock on. (Scarey, actually.)

An EO on gun control would probably be the worst EO ever. And there have been some pretty bad ones.

Well, this is a Hell of a time to find myself unarmed.

More silly hyperbole. Call me shocked. :coffeepap

Time to cling to our Bibles and Guns:

A lot of Federal gun control measures have been done through the executive branch.
Both parties have done so to boot.

Both parties have certainly abused the power of the Executive Branch for some time now. The fact is that many Presidents, R and D have for some time used the Executive Order to legislate. Congress has grown soft and has ceded too much of its power away. Congress was meant to be the most powerful body in our government, not the Executive Branch. However, just because both parties have abused the power and position does not mean that we shouldn't start cracking down on it. We need to restore the proper checks and balances and make it known that the President is really just supposed to be Congress's bitch and act as head of State. His power should be extremely regulated and restricted as he is in charge of executing the orders and laws from Congress.
