Democrat Wins Upstate New York Congressional Race

You are missing the point: The winner/loser was irrelevant. The relevant point was that a dem got 48% of the vote in a district that should have delivered only 33-35%. If a dem can win in a republican stronghold, the 50-70 seats that are competitive would be a cakewalk for dems in the current environment.

No, actually, it is you who are missing the point.

The 2010 election of Chris Lee was pretty much a landslide, but the 2004, 2006, and 2008 were far from landslide victories despite the pull Tom Reynolds had back in the 2004 and 2006 cycles.

Oh, and who was it that gave Reynolds a run for his money back in the 2004 and 2006 cycles?

Jack Davis, that time as a Democrat.

Go ahead, Denver -- keep telling the guy who lives here how the local politics really work.
