This vote surprised me, I didnt think a Dem had a chance in hell to win...so much for my accuracy.

Theres something both sides are forgetting in this equasion, the teaparty keeps harping nothing will change for anyone over 55, even though thats not true...but if your 45 to 54 your taking a huge hit a 45 yr old could have been paying in to social security and medicare for 27 yrs or more, 36yrs for a 54 yr old, not all of them are going to buy the ryans plan either.
The teaparty had to exclude everyone over 55 to even have the remotest chance of having any part of it passed.

    Now they're paying for it.

    That's why Corwin lost.

    There is no other reason.
You are missing the point: The winner/loser was irrelevant. The relevant point was that a dem got 48% of the vote in a district that should have delivered only 33-35%. If a dem can win in a republican stronghold, the 50-70 seats that are competitive would be a cakewalk for dems in the current environment.

interesting claim. what do you think the implications of that are for doing nothing, or following the president's proposals; both of which drastically effect people currently on the program?

Ive never once said "DO NOTHING" lol, I dont know how many times I have say what I believe on this.
No more tax cuts included with medicare mangling and deficit deductions. Do a reform of medicare and Straight deficit reduction buy cutting all the crap that costs us billions.
Our budget and treasury is broke...medicare and social security arent part of it, just the opposite is true they ROBBED medicare and social security fund and put it in the treasury.
Thats what annoys me the most about all this...the teaparty wants to blame medicare and social security for our debt woes and neither have anything to do with our budget deficits...and thats why I call it a conjob. They are using the crisis and blaming entitlements and public workers for their agenda
Everyone of the states with teaparty govs are now spanking them. They had a genuine opportunity to do the right thing and they went nuts just like pelosi and company did. Its the same thing with a different face...two extremes and america doesnt like either

the mathematics say the precise opposite of what you claim - as we move forward, it is social security and medicare that explode as the baby boomers retire, and it is those programs that push us off the edge into bankruptcy.

you simply don't avoid a fiscal meltdown without dramatic reductions in medicare expenditures. you can grumble about this and blame others, but the reality remains. at this point, voting against the Ryan Budget, with the lack of any alternative on the table, is voting to let Medicare die - it is the equivalent of slitting your throat to spite your face.

No, actually, it is you who are missing the point.

The 2010 election of Chris Lee was pretty much a landslide, but the 2004, 2006, and 2008 were far from landslide victories despite the pull Tom Reynolds had back in the 2004 and 2006 cycles.

Oh, and who was it that gave Reynolds a run for his money back in the 2004 and 2006 cycles?

Jack Davis, that time as a Democrat.

Go ahead, Denver -- keep telling the guy who lives here how the local politics really work.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.
