Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell today reported first-quarter profit increases of 69 percent and 30 percent, respectively, from the same period last year. With rising gas and oil prices, analysts expected the five biggest oil companies -- with Exxon as the largest -- to report that they are swimming in revenue.

Exxon earned $10.7 billion in the first quarter, up from $6.3 billion. Shell announced profit of $6.3 billion in the first quarter this year, up from $4.8 billion.

It is not about profits. It is about tax money give aways. If Wal Mart gets subsidies than stop those too. As I said stop all tax money give aways. Subsidies all subsidies and stop funding organizations like PBS,NPR,Planned Parenthood ETC.

if you pay taxes in the city in which you reside and they give you a credit for the income taxes you pay in the city you work in is that a subsidy? or is it merely treating you the same as if you live and work in the same city?

Why do profit margins matter when they are making billions every 3 months in profits. The few millions they get in subsidies should mean little to them.

Nice spin but I am not making Billions a quarter and complaining it is not enough I need subsidies besides. That to me is pure greed and they are showing what assholes they are and they do not care if people can not afford their over priced products.

Profits go to CEO's and stockholders. The rich never seem to have a limit on how much money is enough.

so your solution-as a conservative-is to take that money away from the stockholders (which includes PENSION PLANS, 401K plans etc, Union retirement plans, etc) and give it to the GOVERNMENT.

wow that is some stunning logic on your part

and if you think that will reduce a CEO's salary you prove you know even less about that subject than you understand corporate taxes
