Immigration University Insiders: Illegal Immigrants Get Affirmative Action

Republicans are just as guilty as the democrats are when it comes to selling out this country to illegals.

Well the hundreds of Sanctuary Cities......almost all run by Democrats.......shows where the guilt lays.......

Crap like this pisses me off. Illegals should not even be in this country, let alone be given perks that rightfully belong to legal residents and citizens. For every illegal who is given preferential treatment, there's one legal immigrant or citizen who will not be able to get into that school, because admissions are not unlimited. This totally sucks. We're the only country on the planet that is not "allowed" to enforce its own immigration laws or secure its own border, and we're sure as hell the only country that actually pays people who come here illegal with taxpayer dollars.

Alright DiAnna, you know I love you, but I just have to point out that a lot of the people who have responded in this thread haven't actually read what the bill entails and have resorted to engaging in typical stereotypes of illegals. Let's take a look at just WHO it is this bill is affecting:

Maryland’s Dream Act backlash - The Washington Post

MARYLAND IS the latest state to extend college tuition breaks to undocumented immigrants who graduate from state high schools, provide tax returns going back five years, prove their academic mettle by completing two years of study in a community college and, for men, register for the draft.

These are stringent requirements, and the state is not going out of it's way to cater to illegals. This bill has tough restrictions on just who it applies to, and it is designed to give those individuals, who through no fault of their own are undocumented, an opportunity. These individuals grew up in the state, and are Americans/Marylanders in all but name only. They have already proven to that they are high-caliber members of society and are ready to contribute to the economy. It doesn't make practical sense to just deport these people for something their parents did, and make them go to the back of the line when they are in a much better position to help both themselves and the state right now. The state of Maryland has decided that extending such a courtesy to these individuals will be beneficial in the long term, and I am proud of their decision to take a sensible and humane approach to the immigration issue rather than one charged by absolutes, stereotypes, and uncompromising/impractical positions.

If they are undocumented they are illegals.
