Obama only paid a 26% income tax rate for 2010

"loopholes" half the time seems to be implying "write offs" or "deductions"..

Though I admit, I've not read very far into the thread. I just found the whole thing a bit stupid and funny, much like many of the "OMG Republican hypocrites" threads. Loopholes, deductions, whatever...I've got no problem with Obama trying to pay the least amount of taxes he could. And I don't think he's a hypocrite if he doesn't. But unless he gave up taking any deductions and paid as much of the tax money as he physically possibly could've without purposefully paying extra even after taking no deductions, then based on the way many liberals call some republicans (or some liberals on here call all republicans) Hypocrites for proposing or supporting some legislation and then doing something tangentally related badly then Obama would be a hypocrite to them for calling for higher taxes on the "rich" while doing anything at all to pay less taxes.

After all, if you're a "hypocrite" for being agaisnt gay marriage but cheating on your wife then you're a "hypocrite" for being for increased on taxes for "rich" people but doing anything to pay less taxes as a "rich" person.

what strange comparisons
opposition to gay marriage has what to do with not living up to one's marriage vows?
not paying more taxes that one is obligated to pay has what to do with seeking to eliminate loopholes that favor the rich and influential?

**** if I know, but yet I've seen liberals try to use that and other such things to suggest that a republican/all republicans are hypocrites. Same goes for if a republican sucks a guy off but is opposed to gay marriage (even though being gay doesn't equate to wanting to get married to a gay guy), or cheating on their wife but pushing for prayer in schools, or any other random such social combination

About as much as the examples I pasted above. So thus an extremely loose and unresonable connection...and yet the type of connection used to call Republicans hypocrites by some liberals.

ok, then you acknowledge your comparisons make no sense

Right, but I am pretty sure the wealthiest Americans pay less than Obama. In fact, here is the article:

But among the 400 people with the highest adjusted gross income in the country, averaging $345 million a year, the average rate—the effective rate—has dropped from 26 percent to 17 percent. But among the 400 people with the highest adjusted gross income in the country, averaging $345 million a year, the average rate—the effective rate—has dropped from 26 percent to 17 percent.

Now from the original post:
The Obamas paid $453,770 in federal taxes, for an effective tax rate of just over 26 percent; the top individual tax rate is 35 percent.

So while Obama is not in the top percent, he is paying a much higher effective rate than they do.

You ask the question, and then add an article which has the exact answer to your question???

Come on, he actually read the article. He just liked what the title implies, that Obama did something wrong.

It's what the fringe-righties are all about, bring down the black guy buy finding fault in anything he does...

No, the comparison is apt....the logic that says the examples are evidence of "Hypocrisy" doesn't. But then again, I've been saying that for some time now.

oh i got that, except what you are missing is that both leaders are placing moral value on the superiority of "their improvement", yet they are unwilling to do it themselves.

and then a lefty comes along and makes it about race. Really?

Don't get sanctimonious....you did this to Bush.

I want to know how much Barry Soetoro Obama has donated to Al Qaeda and/or the Taliban. That's my question.

unless you have some evidence....that would be a slanderous statement.

Nobody forced Obama--The President of Hypocrisy..... to take all the Deductions that he did.........nothing stopped him from paying the Clinton era tax rates.

.
.

Actually, if he did that, I believe the IRS would be obligated to send him a refund. So that's stopping him.

Technically, that is incorrect.

A slanderous version of that question would be 'Barry Soetoro Obama has donated to Al Qaeda and/or the Taliban.'

His was a question, not a statement.

Slander is defined as a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report. Not a question.

It was a stupid question, but a question none the less.

Yeah, but that extra is meant to apply to follow on years taxes....it's not meant to be a grant to the government.

Was it really a question?

I think you'll find the answer under the helmet you are required to wear every time you leave the house.

Donations of that sort come from the saudis, their kissing cousins (Bush bin Oilscum clan) live in Texas on the Praire Chapel ranch, near Crawford, TX.
