Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

This is great! I ACTUALLY Laughed out loud!!!!!

Who ever orchestrated this deserves a ****ing medal from the President!

That's awesome :lamo

Good one. Whenever those ****tards go ANYWHERE, someone should organize something like this.

I was digging it, until I hit upon this tid-bit...

Fred Phelps, the disbarred lawyer and Democrat activist

Really? The guy who aggressively preaches the "sins" of homosexuality is not only a member, but activist of the party that supports gay rights?

Supporting gay rights is not a requirement for party membership, nor to be an activist for the party.

I am surprized there was any air in the tires of the vehicles with Kansas license plates.

I can't read it. What's the good part. Is that man in the picture suddenly found himself in a living nightmare? Looks like he was just fishing or something and not dressed like the others.

Now you're gonna say. " if you can't read the damn print how can you see a man fishing?"

I used my special "view image" trick.

Simply prioves the point that ANY party will have it's ****ing nutjobs.

Phelps WAS part of the old southern Democratic party group of racists.

Of course, most of those guys became Republicans...

But Phelps hasn't been involved with the party for a long time. This is just a typical right-wing diversion tactic to paint the opposition with their own wackos. (like how Fox News has, more than once, labeled someone involved in a scandal (D) when they were supposed to be (R). purely by accident, of course)

Phelps is no more a political activist than the homeless man at the bus stop is.

He has tried to run several times and lost horribly in primaries every time (and this was in the early 90s).

It's just ridiculous to try to claim he is a political activist on either side of the aisle.

I think cutting off their attorney fees they receive when they do their provoke and sue scam would be the best route.

People need to realize that old southern democrats were VERY social conservative, and there was a split in the party between the north and the south. This is very deep rooted in the south, and only recently has it become majority republican. Hell Georgia didn't have a republican governor until 2000.

I really doubt he voted for Obama...

I don't agree of the police actions in this incident but the citizens, more power to them. Unlike left-wing nuts, no property was damaged, no one was injured, no one was threatened, and the people taking action didn't call a press conference.

But there is another Phelps that few know. He was a "brilliant" civil rights attorney in the 1960s who would take on racial discrimination cases that no other lawyers would touch, say longtime African-American civic leaders in Topeka.

He fought for the rights of blacks, they say, with the same passion he now reserves for the condemnation of gays.

"I don't know him anymore," says Joe Douglas Jr., an African-American activist in Topeka who became the city's first minority fire department chief.

"I see him out there, and I hear the venom that comes out of his mouth. If you had asked me in the '60s if he would do this, I would have said never."

The Rev. Ben Scott, president of the NAACP's Topeka branch, says he never heard Phelps talk about homosexuals during his work as a civil rights attorney.

"I didn't even know he was a preacher," Scott says.

'Most-hated,' anti-gay preacher once fought for civil rights - CNN

I have done some digging and AFAIK this is just a rumor mongering. There are no confirmed sources that westboro even showed up. That said, I find it disturbing that people are so willing to support criminal abuse if it happens to people they don't like. Being an asshole doesn't remove your protection under the law.

I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest that it was liberals behind this.

He was a civil rights lawyer before he started engaging in this provoke and sue scam.

Fred Phelps - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Phelps earned a law degree from Washburn University in 1962, and founded the Phelps Chartered law firm in 1964.[citation needed] The first notable cases were related to civil rights. "I systematically brought down the Jim Crow laws of this town," he says.[4] Phelps' daughter was quoted as saying, "We took on the Jim Crow establishment, and Kansas did not take that sitting down. They used to shoot our car windows out, screaming we were nigger lovers," and that the Phelps law firm made up one-third of the state's federal docket of civil rights cases.[13]

Phelps took cases on behalf of African American clients alleging racial discrimination by school systems, and a predominantly black American Legion post which had been raided by police, alleging racially based police abuse.[citation needed] Phelps' law firm obtained settlements for some clients.[14] Phelps also sued then-President Ronald Reagan over Reagan's appointment of a U.S. ambassador to the Vatican, alleging this violated separation of church and state. The case was dismissed by the U.S. district court.[14][15] Phelps' law firm, staffed by himself and family members also represented non-white Kansans in discrimination actions against Kansas City Power and Light, Southwestern Bell, and the Topeka City Attorney, and represented two female professors alleging discrimination in Kansas universities.[13]

In the 1980s, Phelps received awards from the Greater Kansas City Chapter of Blacks in Government and the Bonner Springs branch of the NAACP, for his work on behalf of black clients.[16]

There isn't a single person in the South of any party that isn't disgusted by Phelps. Nice try.

Criminal abuse?

You mean like every act undertaken by the Westboro gang which is designed to hurt and abuse others by very nature?

The Westboro nitwits love it. Otherwise, they would limit their protesting to California, New York, Illinois, and other Democrat strongholds. The nitwits want to be on television and they want to be matyrs for the lord.

I wish they would come to Louisiana. I already have a crew put together to counter protest.

One of them made a sign that says, "God Hates Assholes...Especially the Assholes from Westboro Baptist Church."
