THAT is the sound of the man that I voted for. Maybe in his second term Obama might actually grow a spine and stand up to the the right-wing and give America what they voted for.
Women (Nasty or otherwise) are going to be the reason that Donald Trump is NEVER President!
- Colonel Paul YinglingNobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.
Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.
All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
Look - the President's been bashing the conservatives, GOP and Tea Party every chance he gets - I don't *imagine* for one moment that his rhetoric tones *down* off mic. I just can't believe people are locking onto this and complaining.
A screaming comes across the sky.
It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.Pynchon - Gravity's Rainbow
There's the part where the President spoke of the GOP staffer stating "...we need something to bring back to our Caucus." It only shows that politics, not practicality was 100% in play for the GOP. It's not about putting this country on sound footing with them. It's about regaining power and undermining any end-roads that have been made to date by the President and his party.
