Six-year-old gets TSA patdown

you realize it was a female TSA agent patting the girl down... right?

Obviously a lesbian out to corrupt children with the gay agenda then.

I don't see the need to pat down a 6 year old. I disagree with patting down a 6 year old.

However, I watched the linked video and I believe the TSA officer was very polite and businesslike in the way she approached this. She made sure the mother was right there... she was polite and it appeared somewhat apologetic in demeanor... she explained slowly and carefully what she was about to do each time she touched the child... and I saw no groping, fondling, etc.

Essentially, I think the TSA officer made the best of a ****ty situation.

And the child was wonderfully well behaved as well.

Mom gets a kudos for having such a fabulous child amid a ridiculous situation.

In an unconventional war the ability to win could only be garnered by severe inhumane oppression a la commie-fascism.

Only? There are no other tactics that could be used? Really? Yeah... no, there are other tactics. Also, if severe inhumane oppression is what it takes, then that is what it takes. Didn't stop us in good ol' WWII.

Because it's not a conventional war. Hello? There is no doing again something which is now different. It's not Nazi Germany.

Right. Yeah. Got it. Not Nazi Germany. Understood. Different. Not the same. OK. It has now sunk in. Whew. Thanks.

Sorry for being absurd throughout this, but really, I could issue an automated response repeating a few points people don't seem to be able to get over or get around.

This is not a preposition.

Why thank you, I certainly feel sparkly today. :)

All that glitters does not shine... hey, so are you now ready to explain why we couldn't win?

A ridiculous situation that is repeated daily and that has no business being conducted...

That is just a few...

You explain to your cognitively aware children the reason ... and there is no harm. Your alarmist response will cause more harm.

You don't explain the reason for a pat down to a 5 year-old, are you nuts? And how do you explain it to a toddler anyway? What's next... search a babies diaper? That could conceal more than that little girls shirt. Get serious. Do you even think before you type?

I will roam freely in a foreign country without fear.

What a silly statement. Many countries are lawless wastelands. Go roam freely Juarez and get back to me...

Come on people ... those whining the loudest would also be finger pointing if crimes occurred inflight or worse ... hi jacking or a nosedive ... or explosion.

I sure as hell wouldn't... anything else?

I fly often ... I was just through LAX and they worked to make a smooth yet safe process for travelers. I flown into the mideast, Asia, Central America, Western and Northern Europe. Everyone is cool except for a few who think the TSA actually wants to grope. Get over yourself!

Did they pat down your child? If not, you can shut up at anytime...

Terrorists are not beneath using a child or grannie so everyone will go through security.

You should have no problem pointing out the precedent then... I will just wait. Thanks!

It is a choice and privilege to fly ... if you do not like it ...use other transportation!

A privilege? Is that a joke? Anybody can fly if they can pay. How is that a privilege?

The day a kid shows up tot the airport like that with a real weapon, then we could discuss the pat down of kids...

I've given you an historical example of how to actually defeat the enemy. It's not my fault that you just don't get it.

That was the last time we declared war too. Germany and Japan were nationalistic people who were thoroughly embarrassed not only because they lost the war, but by the actions of their governments. They consented to total defeat. So if you want to make this analogy, you need to declare war, embarrass an entire people, force their unconditional surrender, and then start building up.

thank god she came up clean. that kid looked dangerous.

"they who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. "

wise man Benjamin Franklin.

What do you expect when we have terrorists that use women and children as suicide bombers?

They've used 6 y/o white girls from Hometown USA? No?

Tell ya what, when they do, then we can perceive them as being a threat. As Travelsonic points out, it's just common sense.

I'm sorry...I didn't realize that religion only comes in one color/race and only come from specific countries.

Shfting the goal posts much?

The issue was the likelihood in the U.S of little kids being used as suicide bombers... >_<

Nope, not shifting the goals at all. If it happens in one corner of the globe why could it not happen in this little corner?

Prevention is about thinking of bad things that can happen and taking steps to avoid those bad things. Just knowing that a 6 year old can and would be patted down could deter a terrorist from using a 6 year old on a plane.

That worker touched that little girls butt. She should be put on a "No Child" list. Is it ok for a sex offender to molest people with the back of his hands?

Yeah, these parents are so concerned for the privacy of their child... and yet they tape the whole thing and upload it to the internet for the whole world to see? Aren't Americans an interesting breed?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's absurd to pat down a six year old. But videotaping it and putting it on the internet is far more offensive than the act in question, and completely shatters any argument the parents have about the privacy and safety of their child. Disgusting, in my opinion.

I think they did this in hopes to gain support.

I've always said the TSA is a fear-based invasion of privacy that has failed miserably. I want it dead.

However, the film in question showed a truly professional, sensitive TSA agent (I didn't think they existed!) quietly explaining to the girl exactly what she was going to do before she did it, and the little girl was clearly not alarmed by the process... a process that nobody should have to endure, in my opinion.

I'd rather be sniffed by an explosive-detecting dog than subjected to the kinds of things that TSA agents have done to people, especially people with prosthetics and ostomy equipment.

How many Japanese and German terrorists were operating post-WW2?

Quite a few Germans. It was not before late 1946 that the insurgency died out. Among the acts included bombings that killed hundreds and assassinations and so on. The allies were actually quite brutal in weeding out the insurgency.

Werwolf - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quite a few crimes against humanity there by the allies by today's standards.

The Japanese were and are different. They pretty much submitted to allied occupation because their Emperor said they should.
