Glenn Beck to End Daily Fox News Program - NYTimes.com

1:20 p.m. | Updated | Glenn Beck will end his daily Fox News Channel program later this year.

His departure was jointly announced in a statement on Wednesday by Fox and Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts.

Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, which have clashed over the making of “Glenn Beck,” will “work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties,” the companies said in the statement.

As expected, a senior Fox News executive, Joel Cheatwood, will join Mr. Beck at Mercury Radio Arts starting later this month.

The joint statement did not specify an end date for Mr. Beck’s show, called “Glenn Beck,” which has been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early 2009. Asked if Fox News had a rough end date for “Glenn Beck,” a spokeswoman referred back to the statement. Mr. Beck’s contract with Fox ends in December.

Not a fan of Beck, though I love how he gets under the skin of liberals, who in turn somehow support the psychopathically unstable Keith Olbermann.

I'm of the opinion that Fox needs to oust O'Reilly and Hannity as well, because neither offer the most cerebral take on a nightly basis. Their GUESTS do, but not them.

But then I turn over to the clown/freak show going on over at MSNBC, and I realize it can get much worse. Between Maddow's ever-growing Adam's apple and Chris Matthews constant spittle in the corners of his mouth, the pickins are slim.

Good riddance. All news organizations should get rid of all of these idiots on both ends of the spectrum. They offer nothing other than cater to the lowest denominator brainless consumers.

Re: Becks out at Foxnews

Dag! Now I won't be able to get my weekly dose of comedy.

Re: Becks out at Foxnews

My feeling is one of complete disappointment and utter sadness. I am a very strong advocate that people like Beck need far more exposure than the mere two million plus folks who watch him now. I would like to see Beck... & Hannity & Limbaugh & O'Rielly on TV six live hours each comprising a 24 hour loop which runs on a big network and is seen by all 300 million viewers. I can only hope his new venture gets him even more exposure down the road.

Don't be too sad. Dec. is a ways off and then who knows how much you'll get to see him? Maybe more than now. :)

Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts Announce New Agreement; Beck to ‘Transition Off’ Daily TV Program | The Blaze

(New York, NY)
Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.
Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

OH. MY. GAWD.

This news just makes me wanna cry!

Glenn Beck is a loon, he does very little to promote the GOP message. I'm pretty sure Roger Ailes wants something better in that time slot to get the message out for the 2012 presidential campaign. I've always felt Beck was a minus for the GOP - sorry to see him go.

I like beck and I did watch him and like anything else you have to determine for yourself what to accept and what not to. His crying did get to me though, I said to me what the hell is he crying about

Beck has the number 3 rated show on Cable Roger Ailes loves him

I think your problem is that you think ratings mean more to Ailes than elections. Roger Ailes plays chess not checkers.

Ratings mean everything to ailes and they arent parting company they are still very much entwined

You like Olbermann, which proves definitively you aren't capable of recognizing a loon.

Now there is a vision i do not want in my head.

No, they aren't parting company, but the daily 5PM slot will be open to do stuff more related to the 2012 election. Roger Ailes is a conservative Republican who cares very much about elections and he will program the slot taking into the coming elections.

Whether or not Olbermann is a loon or not is not relative to what I wrote.

Glenn will do just fine, his lowest ratings were more than twice anything on MSNBC.

My only concern id that I will not be able to watch his new show because I have a TV system that sucks.

I like that he lets the bad guys make themselves look bad on video, thusproving his points.

There are a lot of generalizations going on here. There are a fair amount of people on the left who couldn't stand Olbermann either, myself included. He tried too hard to be the anti-O'Reilly.

But he's not going anywhere....

Wait! You've stated repeatedly that you're not a Liberal. Now, you say that you are. What's it going to be?

I just hope Fox isn't planning to assassinate him on live TV just as he begins his last scheduled show.... you know like the real Glenn Beck: Howard Beal.

I have a lot of left wing views, but I don't consider myself a liberal. Not everything is black or white.

You mean you DO hope they do....

The 24-hour news networks should just commit suicide. It would be a great favor to society. Useless pieces of garbage.
