Female U.S. soldiers are being “encouraged” to wear headscarves in Afghanistan in an effort to get closer to the locals, according to The Daily Caller.

Major Kyndra Rotunda, the executive director of the Military Law and Policy Institute, says that being “encouraged” to do something in the military is tantamount to being “ordered” to do it, putting the servicewomen in a touchy situation.

Sensitivity Training? Female U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan ‘Encouraged’ to Wear Hijab | The Blaze

You know what you "sensitive" Muslims, kiss my lily white a**.

You can also just fail at whatever you're trying to build over there.

We are fighting a war, I don't give a rats a** about Muslim "senstivities".

I said the same thing about Nancy when she did it....theirs isn't the "only" culture.

You can also just fail at whatever you're trying to build over there.

Muslims are not asking the female soldiers to wear Hijab.

Lt. Col. Michael Lawhorn, a U.S. Central Command spokesman, stressed to TheDC that while commanders are encouraging American women to wear headscarves while engaging with civilians, they are not having them wear the headscarf in lieu of their kevlar helmets.

local commanders are encouraging them — not demanding, but encouraging — if they feel more comfortable — ‘Feel free to wear a headscarf.’”

much ado about nothing.

Nope, sorry.

IF a US Commander "feels" the need to even address this crap it's an issue.

The Muslim "Culture" is not he ONLY Culture....they'll have to deal with it.

You realize that we are on THEIR territory...When people come here, we expect them to respect our culture. When we go there, it's reasonable that others expect us to respect their culture...This isn't even that serious of an issue.

Nope.

We are fighting, bleeding, and dying there.

They can deal with it.

It IS an issue....we are American's.

the US commander is the one with the problem because the fact is Muslims are not asking the female soldiers to wear Hijab.

if the soldiers were being ordered to wear the Hijab and they do not wish to then that is a different matter. fact is they are not.

"We are Americans"? - I'm over this entitled bull****. Time to grow up and take a dose of humility.

Of course that dose of humility would only be for the women to take. I take it you're not a feminist.

Apparently Amazed thinks he knows better than the commanders on the ground over there.

Male combat troops already engage in a great deal of "cultural sensitivity," and even more so for SOF troops. The thing is males aren't required to wear head scarves in Islamic culture.

What the **** are you talking about? Try to focus on what I said without attributing arguments that aren't even there. Can you do that? Is that difficult for you?

You can also just fail at whatever you're trying to build over there.

Or, we can just kill off all the assholes. Problem solved.

I'm sorry. I thought you were making the argument that the US should show some humility and do what's "culturally sensitive" for the indigenous population and require women to wear a head scarf. Did I misunderstand you?

I haven't made an argument about whether women should wear head scarfs - I'm torn on the issue and think the military should make the decision. I have however made arguments against the arrogant B.S. that "We are Americans" and our culture is better than everyone else's. Naturally, with this argument, I believe that both women and men should take that dose of humility since both women and men can be American.

If wearing headscarves is essential to complete the mission, then female soldiers should be ordered to wear headscarves and not encouraged.

I don't see how this is bad. This has sound strategic implications. It's a good idea to lead the Afghani people to believe they can relate to the foreigners currently occupying their country. The less alien the soldiers seem to them, the more likely they are to trust them. This could lead to intelligence being divulged that wouldn't have before, and that could save American lives. I think you're reading into this to much. It's just a piece of cloth.

Because genocide will solve all our problems... Are we going back to the manifest destiny days?

You can be a feminist and a liberal, or you can be an apologist for Muslim fundamentalism, but you can't be both.

Unfortunately, precious few even notice the incredible disconnest between what they claim to be and what they actually support.

Are you kidding? We bow to the tender sensibilities of Muslim here as well as there. CAIR sends envoys to train our FBI and police how to respect Muslims at the same time they encourage Muslims to stone wall law enforcement. They are hypocrites.

What do you think got those soldiers killed at Ft. Hood? They weren't sufficiently respectful to Major Hasan?

If the commanders on the ground over there are following the same protocol that got the Fort Hood soldiers killed by Major Hasan, they don't know much.

I bet you're one of the first to talk about how hated Americans are throughout the world.

You know why that is? It's because were known for expecting everyone to act like Americans.

Are you suggesting that all Muslims are assholes?

Actually, I think we're hated so much, because there are so many intolerant dickheads in the world.
