I never mentioned methods of conducting any war. Nonetheless, you are entitled to your opinion that you know better than the president and pretty much everybody running the planet... when you don't even know what asymmetric warfare is.

I don't know what it is? Says who?

Who though is more qualified to fight a war...qualified, career soldiers and sailors or an elected official younger than most of those professionals have served?

    But, I imagine...you know better.

Laws of most non-fascist states tend to have their armies in civilian control. KNock-KNock? This isnt my argument its the nature of things in modern society. Don't blame me if people don't 'get it'.

As it should be, that doesn't mean that civilians are determining how it's fought. They just set objectives....usually with absolutely no idea if they are obtainable.

    That doesn't make any sense.

As long as wearing the burka is spoken (supposedly by Allah) as a command, in the Koran, it will remain "dictated by Islam" until such time that this sura is removed by Islamic reformists.

"Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and all Muslim women to draw cloaks and veils all ovfer their bodies, (screening themselves completely except for one or two eyes to see the way). That will be better". Koran 33:59

Note that some translations of the Koran present a softer version which says "O prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and the wives of the believers that they shall lengthen their garments. Thus, they will be recognized (as righteous women) and thus they will not be given trouble;" Other translations have still more different wording.

Bottom line is "proof is in the pudding" (in this case the burka). They are worn by millions of Muslim women all over the world, including here in the United States (although less common than in the Middle East). I hesitate to think that millions of women would wear a black covering all over themselves (especially in Middle Eastern desert countries where temperatures hit 130 degrees in mid-summer) if it wasn't being mandated. So which translation is correct ? Look at the women to find the answer ?

That would be be great IF it wouldn't result in Al Qaeda and the Afghan/Pakistani Taliban toppling the Pakistani government, and putting a dangerous nuclear arsenal in the hands of nutcase jihadists, upon whom the mutual deterrent of the cold war years doesn't quite apply (to people who think dying is a good thing). I'm not saying this would definitely happen, but it is a possibility, with high stakes. We just saw 2 Middle Eastern regimes fall (Mubarak & Ben Ali) already, and a few others are hanging in only by fiercely fighting off revolutionaries.

And they are not worn by millions of other Muslims. It's local, not universal to the religion.

There are Christians that dance around in the woods and kiss snakes....does that mean we all do that?

Is that a recent addition, and do you have a link to that recent alteration?
