Heck, I am doing really well on about 100k less than that. I have a good amount of money left over at the end of each month and I don't deny myself much (not even big purchases, I just schedule them appropriately). I feel no sympathy for the guy.

I support this, purely because he's still using my quote for his signature.

But seriously, I'm sure he makes much more than $174K as a result of his job and his argument for not cutting his salary is ludicrous.

"But I have a family to feed! And it's a large one!" I forgot that only politicians have families to feed.

yeah, he would have been alot smarter to take BAH and BAS along with a "salary reduction".

Oh, damn that is good. I am going to use that because that is so true.

Have seen retired physicians who worked during the golden years of medical big buck and bonuses who now come to office seeking free medication samples.
When the big bucks were coming in they grew to the size of a siamese cat in a little fish bowl. Now that nobody is dumping fish food into their bowls they are suddently in trouble......

Any politican of either party gets paid more than the average person. This is people wanting everyone to get the same wages no matter if they are a ditchdigger or a CEO. Gotta spread the wealth ya know.

Hey... the GOP senators and congressmen should just do what the Democrats do... let the taxpayers foot the bill.

I wonder what it took for him to get there? I bet he wasn't a HS drop out.
