So, I listened to it and most of what he was talking about is silly nonsense. The way he talks about what they want to do won't work. No way by just bouncing off of what happened in Madison can they even hope to accomplish what he was talking about. However listening to all 12 minutes, and assuming that it isn't edited, I find humor in the article title. It says The Left, however listening to the clapping and everything there can't be more than 40 people in that room and that is being incredibly generous. So, what you have is an article trying to say the left is doing this based off of a few people.

I don't know that Lerner can convince people to do what he says. His audience seemed to enjoy his speech, though.

Tell us what you think about Lerner's plan. Do you agree that it would be a good idea or is it nuts?

He's been a guest at the WH. He's involved or was involved with SEIU. It doesn't surprise me a bit that LE isn't involved yet. It will take a lot of pressure for that to happen.

Also, I don't think there is any way he can pull this off right now. Doesn't mean he isn't getting the ball rolling.

Read books. Surf the web. Talk to people. Break out of your comfort zone. Delve into ideas that you disagree with or find uncomfortable. Challenge yourself. Don't accept your paradigms as indisputable fact. Be open to change. Recognize your own failings and realize that others are falliable and capable of change as well.

Cable news often distills events down to a few sentences and then slips into analysis from a stable of talking heads who are mostly just experts in being talking heads. It's a skewed view of the world. A well-rounded education and a good breadth of experience is far more useful than targeted sound-bytes when it comes to understanding and engaging with the world. If you don't have a good BS detector, cable news can poison your ability to reason.

He doesn't want a collapse of the entire economy, he wants the banking industry to be reformed and he aims to do it by organizing a middle class revolt of the current system... It's pretty much consumer activism IMO, but a union is behind it..

No. He aims to do it by bringing down financial institutions in the USA. That's not consumer activism. Far from it. More like sedition.
