I've almost felt sorry for her.

Obama won't even use her. You get the feeling that he never even speaks to her.

She's always off on some strange trip to nowhere. Compare that to the heavy involvement that Colin Powell and Condi Rice had.

Such a strange administration. It's like the first time you let your 16-year-old drive the Buick.

Switchovers happen regularly. It'd be cool to see who comes next.

It would be Robert Gibbs. Or at least his equivalent.

We'll never know. Obama has Jimmy Carter written all over him.

I would love to see Joe Lieberman in that role. I think he's tailormade for Secretary of State.

I also could see Newt Gingrich in that role.

Interesting. Wonder who would replace her?

If President Obama is re-elected and if Secretary Clinton no longer serves, one person I'd like to see considered would be Anthony Zinni. He's not only a first-rate military strategist who sees and understands the proverbial "big picture," but also a skilled diplomat. My guess is that someone with a civilian and/or political background will probably be a more likely choice.

Lieberman won't happen. He pissed off too many Democrats. Besides, his policies would be close to those of Clinton, which I don't like.

Gingrich? Interesting choice. I actually like that one. Despite all his baggage, he is still a political and historical Genius. However, I strongly believe that he would turn down an offer.

Obama has Billy Carter written all over him. Laughable, were it not for the seriousness of today.

my speculation

Colin Powell

an opportunity to restore his reputation

Hillary is ZIPPO without Slicky, and she knows it.

If I were Powell, I would stay far away from another cabinet position.

Someone who doesn't toe the NeoLiberal line and agenda would be good.

Well, you're likely to get a neoliberal or a residual new leftist. A realist towing person seems to be counter-productive for the Democratic party.
