    NPR CEO Vivian Schiller Resigns

NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller has resigned, NPR just announced.

This follows yesterday's news that then-NPR fundraiser Ron Schiller (no relation) was videotapped slamming conservatives and questioning whether NPR needs federal funding during a lunch with men posing as members of a Muslim organization (they were working with political activist James O'Keefe on a "sting.")
Wow, she resigned, how honorable and noble of her!

    Oh wait...

Update at 9:43 a.m. ET. More from NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik, via Twitter:

"The board for NPR NEWS has just ousted CEO Vivian Schiller in the wake of video sting by conservative activist of a top exec."

Update at 9:30 a.m. ET: "I'm told by sources that she was forced out," NPR's David Folkenflik just said on Morning Edition.
    She done got fired.

I think more damning will be Ron Schiller's admission in that undercover video, that NPR doesn't need government funding and would be, essentially, fine if they didn't get it. What these firings and views to the public are finally doing is cracking the shell of NPR. There are many who believe NPR is some moderate/independent bastion of "only the facts ma'am" but what's under the surface is what seems to be at MSNBC, CBS and NBC --- a very strong ideology and bias, meaning NPR is no better or worse than any of the other mainstream media outlets. Journalism truly is dead.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

My father was a Journo major when he started college. He dropped it because "The Professors and students all wanted to "change the world" not what Journalism is about." that was back in the mid/late 70's. He got his degree in cartography, which I find amusing with Google Maps, something he still marvels over.

This confuses me. I have no idea why she would be forced out or quit, except maybe the whole discussion about government funding.

Or NPR is highly embarrassed and she's the CEO.

But why? He's entitled to his own opinion on the Tea Party or politics in general. Other than his obvious disdain for the Tea Party, the only controversial issue would be the government funding - which he said he thinks they'd be better off without.

Does this not boil down to an organization coming under fire because one of it's employees was caught in a candid situation discussing his politics in an off-the-record way? And though I don't quite understand the outrage, wouldn't NPR's handling of the situation only furthur prove their commitment to journalistic integrity?

I know some of you are going to say that this doesn't prove much of anything, but take a look at this:

If you want the facts, print media and public broadcasts are still the way to go.

    Rational Revolution? Really?

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Do you understand the chart you just posted because it appears you proved his point? It appears that the WSJ and NPR had the least partisan viewers.
