Is the sole reason why us, as American's, care so much about Libya, because they have a lot of oil. Why do people pretend to care about the Libyan government maybe bombing Innocent civilians when it happens on a daily basis throughout Africa already? Please tell me if im missing something.

This is a video of African women protesting and the local government opens fire on the crowed resulting in a few dead, and it's ALL caught on tape.

If the U.S./U.N get's involved with Libya should they get involved all over Africa? Or should we just get involved with what concerns us most (Oil)? Or should we just stop involving all-together and let the people of the countries solve it by-themselves? Another option?

i honestly don't know the answer.

You Don't want to see this, but ill post the links to the videos anyway. DO NOT WATCH if you don't like seeing blood and dead bodies of innocent civilians.

I do know that Gadafi and Libya is kind of a full out war, so it is a little different; i just more want to inform people on these video's and make us look at our's and the U.N.'s foreign policy.

American's only what to talk about according to what the media is showing and telling them. It has nothing to do with caring, but just something to talk about. That is all.

Let's not ignore the real reason we don't care. The Ivory Coast has absolutely nothing that the US really needs. What does the US need from the Ivory Coast? Coffee? If it were Somalia or Nigeria, it would be a completely different story.

Nothing unique and nothing new here. Rawanda in 1994 was probably a more classical example. Pure genocide. With 800,000 slaughtered. Most with machetes I believe.

The US didn't weigh in because we had neither the national interest or the stomach to do so. (Which btw i did not disagree with...). The UN gave it some cursory attention but that was about it.
