Governments that preceded unionization were thus fascists? Please.

All the wealth and power controlled by a few at the top with a poor working class that had no rights to bargain collectively...............sounds fascist to me

I won't call you anything. I would keep it, too. I don't begrudge people fighting for themselves. Isn't the system designed around competition for resources? Whose going to take care of you and yours if you don't step up and do it? Especially if there's no union, like where I work. You negotiate as best you can with the resources available to you. But that's also why I support the unions having a seat at the bargaining table, even if I agree that many union practices are counterproductive.

then you have no idea whatsoever what "Fascism" is. I would urge you to go discuss the matter with Viktyr Korimir, who is interestingly open and honest about the fact that he is a whole-hearted fascist. He may set you straight on their economic philosophy.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economics_of_fascism

Historian Gaetano Salvemini argued in 1936 that fascism makes taxpayers responsible to private enterprise, because "the State pays for the blunders of private enterprise... Profit is private and individual. Loss is public and social." Fascist governments encouraged the pursuit of private profit and offered many benefits to large businesses, but they demanded in return that all economic activity should serve the national interest.

According to wikipedia, there is no single definition of fascism. And once in charge, a fascists will show his true stripes....especially about economic activity serving the national interest. The greedy will show up at the party to feast on the carnage, no matter what political system we have...
