I was taken aback by all the hate speech on Yahoo News comments, I thought,
"How could so many people want to post racist or other hatespeech?"

But according to recent articles on technology, the anti-American rants founds on blogs and such may not be real. Networks of automatic sock puppets can generate the illusion of consensus on the internet.

"It's recently been revealed that the U.S. government contracted HBGary Federal for the development of software which could create multiple fake social media profiles to manipulate and sway public opinion on controversial issues by promoting propaganda. It could also be used as surveillance to find public opinions with points of view the powers-that-be didn't like. It could then potentially have their "fake" people run smear campaigns against those "real" people. As disturbing as this is, it's not really new for U.S. intelligence or private intelligence firms to do the dirty work behind closed doors."

Sock puppets are a pretty common theme on the internet. Giving enough time however it can be pretty obvious which ones are the sock puppets.

Awhile ago I ran across this one website/forum that purported to be for Huckabee's election. They were suppose to be "real Christians". However they espoused putting kids in cages and beating women and all kinds of other crap. It was quite obvious that the whole website was nothing more than one huge sock puppet. I got banned from it eventually for supposedly being a devil worshipper or some such crap. A few months later after I had gotten my IP changed and Huckabee had dropped out of the elections I went back and found the place completely revamped into a site that supported Ron Paul. Once I identified who I was I got banned inside of 2 days. lol

So yeah, the article above doesn't surprise me one iota.

I felt the exact same thing about Democratic Underground, they banned me because I criticized Hillary on issues, not even personal attacks. In less then 30 mins, bam!

One of the footnotes in the above story was this perspective...

Wed Feb 16, 2011 -UPDATED: 'The HB Gary Email That Should Concern Us All" by Happy Rockefeller .

"creating an army of sockpuppets, with sophisticated "persona management" software that allows a small team of only a few people to appear to be many, while keeping the personas from accidentally cross-contaminating each other. Then, to top it off, the team can actually automate some functions so one persona can appear to be an entire Brooks Brothers riot online."

6 Things Social Networking Sites Need to Stop Doing

"First Facebook asks you to give it a second email address, in case, you know, someone hijacks your other email and changes your password when you really need to water your fake crops. That's reasonable enough. But then it asks for your phone number."

Thats why the GOP had to create the tea party PR/marketing scam. The religious right was damaging the country and Huckabee who is just another fake preacher like Pat Robertson and Jack van Impe is a super creep who never had a prayer of becoming the President, like Palin.
