Today it is almost impossible for a regular working man to support a family because he has to work almost half the year for the government and the remainder for his family.

It naturally follows that because of the high cost of government the working class is going to suffer, and their incomes shrink.

Instead of making "the rich" pay more taxes people should encourage less government spending. That would put more money in the pockets of the people and the middle class will be more able to recover. But with government spending trillions of dollars each year someone is going to have to pay, and its the rich who have the tax lawyers, not the working class.

The simple fact of the matter is that government has become far too expensive, and people just can't afford it, rich and poor. What happens when the rich are no longer there to foot the bills?
those who hate the rich or realize bashing the rich is a viable political strategy won't answer that question

nor will they deal with the fact that current system encourages politicians to pander to the many with promses of more (Vote buying) spending paid for by a minority of the voters

the only way to stop the masses from demanding more spending is to make the masses feel pain everytime more spending happens

there is no denying that the current system-where 5% pay more taxes than the other 95% encourages that 95% to vote for more spenders

    Re: Rich-Poor gap widening

Im going to give away the secret to financial success. I could write a book and sell it...but...no...in my benevolence...Im going to give it away.

Hard work. Have a plan. Bust your butt to achieve the goal. Dont expect it to happen overnight. Dont expect anyone to give it to you. Mommy shouldnt be there to wipe your ass for you when you are 40. Dont expect others to provide for you.

When you are in high school, study. Have an objective in mind. Learn. If you can afford it and have it as an option and are willing to forego family, then when you graduate from high school, go to college with a career goal and be willing to put in the work to achieve that goal. Take out student loans if necessary, work part time jobs to help pay for your education as you go, and apply for scholarships...you would be amazed at what is out there. Dont use high school and college as a substance and hormone driven humpfest. Grow up. Be responsible. If you cant afford college join the military or find a job that will offer a retirement and college tuition reimbursement. Bust your hump. Be willing to work two or three jobs from the age 20-40 so that you can enjoy successfrom 40-90 and provide for a better life and opportunities for your kids. Dont be afraid or embarassed to work at Burger King, 7-11, Taco Bell, or Servicemaster as a grown man. Decide what you want to be when you grow up and by-damn achieve it.

Hard work. Dont be a whiny bitch because other people have succeeded. Believe me...no one cares. A lot of people say they do...they dont.

Oh...hey...another option...join a union. There are lots of half-witted dip****s that joined unions and managed to stay employed with pretty decent benefits. For info on joining a union, send a PM to Haymarket.

    The Income Gap

On one side you have $0.00......and you will always have $0.00.....thanks to lazy liberal slobbery. On the other side, the sky is the limit, until Democrats institute their Maximum Wage.

If you want everyone as close to $0.00 as possible......vote Liberal

If you want everyone as far away from $0.00 as possible....vote Conservative

If you want the economic pie to grow.....for prosperity to flourish.....you want an income gap the size of the Grand Canyon...and growing.

Voting democrat and being a liberal are two different things. Most poor people who vote democrat actually hold conservative values.

As for the topic, a plant can't keep growing when it's roots are not being nourished. I guess the poor in America has not suffered enough yet, when they do, all hell will break loose. Trickle down economics was a scam from the beginning.

Only because the wealthy and middle income folks continue to subsidize them.

You've got it backwards, my friend. Partially, anyway. It's the poor and middle income who subsidize the wealthy.

Unless you're trying to argue that the upper 1% of the world's income earners earned 99% of the world's wealth (which is absurd) then there is no other conclusion to reach.

Oh no...I dont think so. The numbers continue to climb on the enumployed and welfare rolls. The poor (as YOU pointed out, continue to breed like rabbits, enabled by the wealthy and middle income folks that pay for their services. Sort of counter-evolutionary.

But...yeah...sure...go on believing that the 'poor' are subsidizing the wealthy by being a drain on society and NOT being effective consumers.
