Go Walker! Hang in there dude, your doing great!
He doesn't need to be "best buds" with David Koch, this proves he's all for the billionaires and not the little guy.
This is not original with me, but a guy on a local board says Gov. Walker is a Kochsucker.

Here's some reading material for you:

Billionaire Brothers’ Money Plays Role in Wisconsin

What Mr. Phillips did not mention was that his Virginia-based nonprofit group, whose budget surged to $40 million in 2010 from $7 million three years ago, was created and financed in part by the secretive billionaire brothers Charles G. and David H. Koch.

State records also show that Koch Industries, their energy and consumer products conglomerate based in Wichita, Kan., was one of the biggest contributors to the election campaign of Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, a Republican who has championed the proposed cuts.

Even before the new governor was sworn in last month, executives from the Koch-backed group had worked behind the scenes to try to encourage a union showdown, Mr. Phillips said in an interview on Monday.

Other than it being completely illegal to talk to campaign donors about party strategy... yeah, he did great. What a corporate shill this guy is. Just like on Dateline when child molesters get busted for having cyber sex with fake underage kids, this is just as illegal as talking to the real Koch about campaign issues.

Why would you defend something so unethical to begin with:

WATCHDOG EXPLORING CAMPAIGN FINANCE AND ETHICS LAW-BREAKING BY SCOTT WALKER DURING FAKE CALL WITH BILLIONAIRE
If Walker broke the law, he should resign, says watchdog

Washington, D.C.—Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisc.), in a taped telephone conversation released last night, appears to suggest political coordination while talking to someone he believes is one of his political donors, David Koch--a possible illegal action, according to campaign watchdog Public Campaign Action Fund.

“In a call with who he thought to be billionaire political donor David Koch, Gov. Walker may have broken campaign finance and ethics laws,” said David Donnelly, national campaigns director for Public Campaign Action Fund. “If he did, he should resign.

“If you didn’t believe it before, you have to now—this fight isn’t about the budget, it’s about favors for corporate special interests,” continued Donnelly. “If Wisconsin law forbids coordination with political donors similar to federal law, Gov. Scott Walker is not just in political trouble, but in legal hot water.”

Public Campaign Action Fund is currently in discussions with election experts on whether Gov. Walker may have broken state election law and whether a complaint should be filed.

Gov. Walker: “After this in some of the coming days and weeks ahead, particularly in some of these more swing areas, a lot of these guys are going to need, they don’t need initially ads for them, but they’re going to need a message out. Reinforcing why this was a good thing to do for the economy, a good thing to do for the state. So to the extent that message is out over and over again is certainly a good thing.”

Ian Murphy (posing as David Koch): “Right, right. We’ll back you any way we can.”

Scott Walker's poll numbers were already plummeting before this incident...

    Scott Walker

It will be interesting to watch them go into even more of a talespin when Wisconsin voters see how slimey and unethical this guy is.

But he wasn't willing to engage in it.

It also exposes the cozy ties that many of these GOP wingers have with billionaire corporate interests.
Yes, such a cozy relationship that Walker had obviously never talked to the Koch brother before.

Oh puh-lease....he said that it was something that they actively talked about doing...the fact that they later decided not to is irrelevant. An ethical person wouldn't even consider it.

Wow. What he did was really, really illegal.

The seeming acceptance (let alone outright joy) of the promise of an illegal gift of a trip to California as a reward for supporting Koch's interests, not to mention how he suggested illegal political coordination. That may put him in some pretty hot water legally speaking.

Re: Scott Walker Gets Punked By Journalist Pretending To Be David Koch

This thing Gov Walker has done...this is why the US. -vs- Citizens United was such a terrible idea! (I apologize in advance for hijacking the thread, but I believe this relevant to what has transpired. Mods, feel free to delete this post if after reading it you believe it intruding on a different topic.)

It's not the issue of whether or not wealthy individuals can make campaign contributions to political candidates or a specific political party. It's about the campaign advertisements, how they are framed and/or directed towards a specific message targetted towards a specific demographic using corporate funding. Granted, this taped conversation didn't quite breech the corporate level of intrution or manipulation, but what it DOES show is how easy it can be for one wealthy contributor to sway a politician using advertising dollars. And if such a thing is happening at the State level whether for State Representatives, Senators or Governors, imagine how deep such influences run at the federal level.

Sitting back recalling events from my own state elections just last November, I don't recall seeing very many TV ads for the lone Democrat who ran for governor here, for example. Many people (mostly those who didn't support him) say perhaps he didn't have a very strong message to address. But I disagree with that notion. For as you watch many of these ads, the one constant was that most of them were financed by some PAC or another, not private citizens. It's extremely difficult to run a campaign for and by the People when corporate giants are able to out-spend the average citizen 1 million to 1, and then plaster that message all over the TV and radio airwaves effectively drowning out the voices of the minority.

Now, the same could be said in relation to the opposition party - whomever that may be - in the next election cycle, for example, if Democrats start receiving more corporate backing. Then it will be the Republicans calling foul. For what it's worth, I think campaign financing has gotten way out of hand. It's no longer the People who control it. It's big companies and wealthy individuals and/or PACs that have the greatest influence in political campaigns, and the Citizens United case, IMO has effectively closed the door on the individual ever truly being "well informed" or truly having a voice other than at the polls. The hope is that enough of us will begin to filter through the white noise, get to the truth and start using social media outlets to simply tell the unbias truth.

To that, it's very clear what Gov. Walker's intentions are here...kill the power of the unions, thereby removing power from the People. And before anyone says otherwise, State employees do desereve to have their voices heard. Otherwise, the State becomes nothing more than a dictatorship which goes against everything most Americans believe in.

I hope this guy supports the Patriot Act (the prank caller). He obviously has no problem lying about who he is during a phone call and taping the conversation for his own gain
