Colorado GOP Chairman Quits: 'I'm Tired Of The Nuts' | TPMDC

Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dick Wadhams dropped his reelection bid on Monday, and fired some parting shots at the Tea Party and the hard-line conservatives he thinks are hurting the party's electoral success.

"I have tired of those who are obsessed with seeing conspiracies around every corner and who have terribly misguided notions of what the role of the state party is while saying 'uniting conservatives' is all that is needed to win competitive races across the state," Wadhams wrote in a memo to the Colorado Republican State Central Committee obtained by The Denver Post. ...

We keep telling YOU PEOPLE the Tea Party is not just a GOP lapdog.

Maybe one day you will get it.

In other words, the institutional conservative-in-name-only former ways aren't working anymore.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass, Wadhams. You're exactly what we're trying to thin from the herd.

I thought that was Dick Hertz.

I'm short on my modern NASCAR knowledge.

Good for a man of integrity.
Now how long before the True Believers begin their attacks on him?

I doubt he finished the sentence before the attacks were inbound.

And we keep thanking you for tearing the Republican party apart! Keep it up!

Growing pains. We will let the chips fall, but we will no longer accept Democrat Lite. Bush was the final straw.

Bravo! Because we all know that reducing your numbers always helps you win democratic, statewide elections.

Certainly not the lapdog in Colorado as the so-called tea party sabbotaged a clear shot for the GOP at the senate and the governor's mansion.* You can understand his frustration. As Colorado is a purple state, the tea party is going to make the life of a GOP chair difficult as long as it is around (which will probably be another election cycle)

* -the governor's race was one blunder after another for the GOP, with the tea party being just a part of those blunders.
