Rachel Maddow Falls for Fake Story About Conservatives and Sarah Palin

There is a lot of good information on the internet, along with a pile of manure and a lot of irony and satire. One would think that Maddow would have figured that out by now, and check her sources before reporting a story.

"Sarah Palin led invasion into Egypt?" Why would anyone even have to check out anything so absurd to know it has to be either satire or nonsense?

UPDATE:
It’s worth pointing out that on Saturday Palin joked about how long it would take for her to be connected to Egypt. She bet a month. Looks like she was wrong.

Who would she lead? What military force? It's comical that anyone supposedly so smart would fall for something so obviously full of ****...lol.

When you are on that lets hate______ <--insert name of person you hate band wagon its easy for people's judgment to be clouded and sometimes they just do not care. Like with the Bush Bashers who claimed Bush lied to get us to Iraq or the die hard Obama bashers claimed Obama is not a natural born citizen or some other nonsense. If the Onion did a story on Palin saying she likes to eat dead babies, Maddow would have posted it regardless of how absurd it sounds.

Right.

Wasn't there a story a while back about a pundit who got a story from the Onion, then reported it as fact? My memory is kind of sketchy on that one. Anyone remember it?

Come on now guys... a fake story on Maddow regarding Palin... that's just too easy. I forget who but someone a little while ago was crowing about how Maddow's research on her stories is uncompromisable and numero uno, because of all the factual non-spin information she provides on her television show you see.....

Ok I thought I could get through that without cracking myself up... and I just couldn't.

Well she DID say pretty much the same as you and thought it to be ridiculous. Makes you wonder how many OTHER opinion pushers do the same in the media and get away with it. I think it was 3 or 4 years ago where Hannity did the same thing. BUT..... how many times do they do this sloppy reporting to bolster their side and it DOESNT get caught!?!??

LOL!

You know - this just reiterates why I don't like 24/7 news.

Remember when the false report came out against Bush and his military service? Back then things were at least somewhat respectable - not anymore. True journalism, investigative reporting and factual reporting has gone out the window.

And that is summed up in the fact that she responded to this entire situation with a TWEET on a website.

Well she has to wait at least a week before making a pretentious and disingenuous admission that her staff ****ed up, so no one will remember what she's talking about.

Did she not mention it on her show? Even in passing?

wow.

The article might just be misleading - but I read this and busted a gut:

The video has since been scrubbed from MSNBC’s website. And to her credit, Maddow recognized the flub via Twitter:

I thought the thread was gonna say Rachel Madcow falls for a fake woman

(a socialist lesbian version of THE CRYING GAME?)

Yes, she reported a fake story, but The Blaze spun their reporting saying she was mocking conservatives (in general) and Sarah Palin. She never mentions conservative AND she specifically said that this had nothing to do with Sarah Palin herself. She actually did better reporting on a fake story than The Blaze (Glenn Beck) did on the real story.
