One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. Agreed that ratings do play a major role.

Buckley's show used to be on my local PBS station on Sunday mornings. Once a week. Fox opinion shows are on every night. If WFB were still around and taping, I would still watch him AND Fox. AND listen to Prager and Medved and Levin on the radio. Which is to say you can have both.
Again I agree that a person is most informed when they get news from multiple sources. And yes it does hurt when shows are on only once a week and it hurts even more when it is Sunday mornings.

I don't agree with the line that good ratings equate to lack of substance. There's nothing wrong with being informative AND entertaining.
I agree to a point. When you start skipping on information to be entertaining than you have a problem. When you, like most pundits do, only give half a story to pull in viewers that want to listen because you are suiting their agenda than you have a problem. And that is part of my problem with pundits. They sell these half stories as the truth just to gain viewers that agree to their political lean.

you are so full of ****...lol.. You said that in direct reference to Olbermann no longer having a cable show to voice his retarded opinions on... and you say 'I' am creating a strawman?

Any shred of credibility you may have had just died.

You serve your corporate allies very well. They would be proud. Perhaps a basket of corporate goodies will be laid upon your doorstep as a demonstration of their appreciation. Or perhaps you will merely have to settle with the usual pat on the head and 'thats a good boy'.

Again, you sound more an more like one of those people who justify the silencing of their opponents by taking the most narrow view possible but when their own ox is gored its an entirely different thing.

If they are skipping on facts then they are intellectually dishonest and unworthy of your time or attention from then on. That's what I meant, partly, by being responsible in commentary.

One thing I believe FOX offers far more of than they are credited for by their detractors is - yes I'll say it, balance. You will hear liberals on Fox. I'm not sure if I tuned in to MSNBC, I would hear many cons. Would I? (And no, I don't count Joe. Not anymore.)

Do you intend at any point to man up for your own flawed logic? No? I didn't think so. Thanks for playing...

I will agree with you that Fox has liberals, but I do not agree that it equals balance. The liberals that are on Fox are the Alan Colmes type. Weak and submissive, which makes the conservative hosts like Hannity look better and therefore have an air of authority in their show. And I will again agree with the fact that you probably won't see as many Republicans on MSNBC as liberals on Fox, but again I don't agree that it equals balance.

I love it when you take off the MEAN GIRL dress and put on the referee uniform as its good for a laugh. As I said before, this is a step taken... a step in the silencing of the left... a step in silencing the critics of corporatism ... a step in silencing those who want to silence all of us opposed to the right wing corporate agenda. You are free to view that step as you want to. If you want to play "box me in" you can get somebody else cause that is not my game ........... its yours.

Again... has Olbermann lost some freedom to speak his mind as you implied earlier? No, he is still free to do so. He just won't be paid by MSNBC to do so... as much as that saddens you.
