Maybe. Maybe not. There's no way you can confirm that 100% of these people will retain their jobs.

Which is why I didn't "confirm" that.

Do you get sad every time one company beats out another company? Why are you so sad about this?
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

So what? Why is that such a tragedy? It's "creative destruction," as Joseph Shumpeter called it. Companies become obsolete, die off, and are replaced by more innovative companies. And that's exactly the way that it should be.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

Good riddance to everything on the list.
Although I'm not a fan of Borders specifically, I think there is something to be said for brick-and-mortar book stores. They have a certain ambiance to them, it's fun to go there and just chill, and they're great places to meet smart chicks.

Unfortunately I guess that isn't enough to keep them profitable in the face of competition from online bookstores and tablet readers.

I can't say I'll miss any of these companies. In fact, I've never even heard of Answers Corp.

All I can say is there sure was alot of talk about letting the free market system run its course when GM received its bailout. Now, some of those same folks who were tic'd off just 2 short years ago are now upset that the free market system is running its course.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "You can't have it both ways!" Either this is how the markets are suppose to work in a capitalistic society or we bailout every company when they screw up or their outdated business model is no longer ideal for consumers.
