How many people would it take to tip one over?

I think people are overreacting just a tad. A lot of crazy **** can happen in those parking lots and it has happened in the past, from muggings and abductions to rapes. A little added security certainly couldn't hurt. While security cameras do help, it would be nice to have someone out there who could actually help you out if you needed it.

Guess who would get sued if that someone who was supposed to help was unable to protect someone?

.

Or instead of guard towers, people could just stop shopping at wal-mart. I mean really, when your local wal-mart store, a store infamous for bad business practices no less, has to have a guard tower made to prevent civil disruption and violence, then it's time to go shopping at target instead.

But when you need a salt and pepper shaker set at 2AM, where are you supposed to go?

LiveLeak.com - Mobile Prison Guard Towers Coming to a Walmart near You! Unbelievable.

Departpent of HS padding its own intel and passing it off as concerened civils?

My Walmart has security cameras all over to deter shoplifting and other issues. If a stupid guard tower is what it takes to keep and eye on their property then I'd say that person's living in a ****ed up neighborhood and maybe they should shop elsewhere lest they become a statistic

I know - I lived in a neighborhood where countless people were murdered and robbed IN my Walmart parking-lot - which is part of the reason I moved the **** out.

But yet if someone was kidnapped or murdered in *that* parking-lot I'm certain everyone would be demanding they review *that* surveillance footage to catch the perpetrators.

Now - I wasn't about to watch a 10 minute video of someone's homemade 'omg!' concerning a non-issue such as this from the skewed source that is MSNBC. . .Is it even stationed in the US? If so - where? Along the southern border or near a very troubled area?

Has that particular store had serious issue to be concerned, lately, for it's overall condition and the safety of it's patrons?

BTW - a mobile unit instead of an affixed camera atop of every traffic light makes far more sense - and is likely, ergo, more affordable.

But hey - the 3rd video was hilarious :)

People of WalMart. A gift that keeps on giving. And giving. And giving. And giving...

How many people would it take to tip one over?

To me it looks like 2 or 3 heavy individuals that knew how to rock the boat.

How dare the police observe public areas! :2mad: POLICE STAAAAAATE!

They have them here all the time. I like them. You know that if your car gets scraped, a trained observer will see it and get the license plate number (if they have one). If someone tries to break into your car, there will be help. If someone tries to mug you, there will be help. Now, since I don't have the right to mug someone, steal or bust up their car I don't see this as trading liberty for security. I just see this as a means of enforcing the law. Plus, it makes me feel better when my wife goes to the store.

Way ahead of you I started boycotting wallmart when they decided to start streaming homeland security propaganda on the wallmart tv's.

I don't go there to buy anything essential - they don't understand quality. I think that all the rejected, refurbished items are sold their. their overal push for 'cheap cost' has reduced overall quality-control.

That's when you really need Walmart security with a little something something extra....

Yes, my reaction to automatic weapon fire is definitely to go towards it. :D

Somehow I think this might hurt business! Then again, I have this totally irrational fear of bullets...

It seems like the problem, or rather that is my reason for disliking it, is that it goes way over the top compared to other methods... though kneejerk reactions like yours make me doubt whether people who make them care to consider the possible reasons for someone disliking something.

It's just a guard tower, but it does set a scary precedent.
