I'm willing to assume there is some portion of the California state constitution that would cover such legislation.

Well that is very convenient for everyone, if true, and would likely speed up the process, at least if your theory of where the product is located is what motivates people, rather than the price or brand or habit or anything else.

What is really silly is when people whine about their taxes being too high, but their electric bill is not.
We can't do much, as individuals, about the taxes but we certainly can reduce our electric bill.

Last i checked they have three different styles...a yellow, a blue, and a white. The blue is supposed to be 'natural' I think. The yellow is supposed be sunlight or some such crap. Cant stand em. Quite often people walk into roooms, then leave them. How crappy does your product have to be if it takes a while to reach the illumination standard? maybe we should just go back to candles and oil lanterns.

Sorry, your point is? If they last longer, you save money.
BTW Sam's Club shoppers, sometimes they order in more stuff than they can sell. Last fall they had CFL bulbs so cheap that they were only a bit higher than incandescents. I stocked up for our 2 houses...
When you see a good deal at a big box store, buy it then. Those super deals sell out fast....

You got something to add to the topic? I care a lot, which is why I have mostly CFL's in my 2 houses...
You don't like my informed opinion, feel free to post your rebuttal.

The crap sold at costco/sams club, is inferior to the same labeled stuff you get at real stores. just sayin....

My point is, that we don't need government mandating the use of cfl's.... the market will decide, that when they can make more money on cfl's they'll push them as they are doing now.

Mandating them is nanny state government interventonalism looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
