Or maybe, just maybe, jealous / untrusting people have been burned badly in the past...
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

hence qualifiers such as many, most and some

I had a situation alluded to previously in the thread that left some pretty significant scorch marks. I may be a little more jaded of an individual today because of it, but I still trust the woman I married implicitly. Suspicious people generally become that way because their own behavior leads them to believe that everyone else operates in the same clandestine fashion that they do.

Kind of a mixed up mess, but I think #3 was justified in snooping whether it's legal or not. As far as this being a felony, that to me is nonsense. If you communicate in such a public manner as the internet, it's your own fault if you get caught doing things you shouldn't be doing. This guy obviously married a psycho, two-timing bitch who had no concern for anyone but herself. It's a shame he told how he found out she was cheating. He should have said he just guessed it.
Let me get this straight, she was cheating with an ex? Does that count as cheating?

Maybe she was just big into recycling...

Yes, an abusive ex at that. Woman must have issues. From appearances her 3rd hubby is a fine, upstanding man.

The case is stupid. Hopefully it will be dismissed. Should the man have read his wife's email? No because she is entitled to her own privacy. Should he go to jail for it? NO.

Is reading your wife's email a crime? Depends. If you read an email from her lover, and you go out and shoot him, then yes. It is a crime. I hope this helps you.

You have a point, but having been through this sort of crap before I have a policy: Trust is earned. I apply that to everyone, not just Significant Others.

OTOH I don't run around being paranoid and hiring PI's. If something comes up that makes me think there is a REASON to suspect infidelity, then I will snoop... otherwise no, I don't bother. They usually give themselves away if you know the signs, anyway.
