Perhaps there is some distinction to you - and to the people who persist in this cause celebre of the right wing - but what exactly is wrong with the Official Certification of Birth that is easy to find on the net from the state of Hawaii, the statements from Hawaiian officials authenticating it, the notice in the newspaper at the time of his birth in Hawaii and the acceptance of all those things by every responsible official who has seen them?

Because it leave open questions from those who find the CoLB insufficent proof. And archived actual birth cert was kill all questions. Please, don't lump me in the birthers, I've said all along that the CoLB is legally sufficient. You're also the last person in a position to question anyone's bias.

I would imagine that VERY FEW people in their 40s have their original birth certificate with them anymore, and with at least two international moves, I suspect that it is highly unlikely Obama would have the original birth certificate... I know I don't have mine...

HONOLULU — Gov. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, who befriended President Obama’s parents when they were university students here, has been in office for less than three weeks. But he is so incensed over “birthers” — the conspiracy theorists who assert that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya and was thus not eligible to become president — that he is seeking ways to change state policy to allow him to release additional proof that the president was born in Honolulu in 1961.



Gov. Neil Abercrombie knew President Obama's parents and said he saw him as a baby.

“It’s an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father; they were my friends, and I have an emotional interest in that,” Governor Abercrombie said in a telephone interview late Thursday. “It’s an emotional insult. It is disrespectful to the president; it is disrespectful to the office.”

The governor, a Democrat and former congressman, said he has initiated conversations with the state’s attorney general and the chief of its Health Department about how he can release more explicit documentation of Mr. Obama’s birth on Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital. He said he has done so of his own accord, without consulting the White House, which declined to comment.

“He’s a big boy; he can take sticks and stones. But there’s no reason on earth to have the memory of his parents insulted by people whose motivation is solely political,” Mr. Abercrombie said. “Let’s put this particular canard to rest.”

1. I am not a birther and have no doubt President Obama is a natural born citizen

2. I am 51 and have my original birth certificate as do all of my 3 siblings, 2 older 1 younger.

3. My parents are both deceased, but were born in 1926 and I have their original birth certificates as well.

It would surprise me if having your original birth certificate was uncommon

The real issue is why Sham Wow refuses to release his records from Occidental College and Columbia. Its not like he has an argument for that given how often he and his supporters have crowed about his admirable record at the Harvard Law School and his masterful political skills resulting in him being elected president of the law review despite never having a note published in that prestigious journal. He all know he was a Magna at HLS meaning he was in the top 15 or 20% of the 550 so graduates of what is universally regarded as one of the 2 or 3 best law schools in the nation.

What about the theory that he won't release them because he attended Occidental College on a scholarship for foreign exchange students?
Not a birther..just asking. If it's true it could just mean he lied to get the scholarship. Otherwise, I don't why he doesn't just release his records.

there are several theories-this is one

the other is that Obama's college records would quickly establish that his race was the only reason why he was able to transfer to columbia or gain acceptance at HLS. We do know that Sham Wow did not graduate with even honors from COlumbia and that means his cumulative GPA was less than a B+. We also know that the 75 percentile (ie 75 percent of the students accepted) at HLS was approximately at 3.7. For those of us who understand the admissions process into top tier law schools, a GPA of less than 3.3 is almost always going ot get one rejected at a place like Harvard. But for his race, Sham wow never would have gained admission into HLS.

What exactly does the Birther crowd want? Seriously? Do you all want Joe Biden to be president that badly? Even if somehow you're right and Obama has pulled a fast one, do you somehow believe that suddenly, McCain will be president? And what proof will actually end this debate? We've seen his birth certificate, and we know which schools he went to as a kid. Is anyone seriously considering hunting down and interrogating his third grade math teacher? Because she'd have to be in on the conspiracy, too.

Honestly, this whole argument is absurd. Even if Obama is the greatest liar the world over, and is Kenyan, and is a secret Muslim, and really is plotting the downfall of America... I'd still rather have him than Biden. Plus we all know this whole debate would never have come up around a white man.

what I get is rather than you whining about the first person who mentioned another issue about Obama's secrecy you decided to hump my leg.

The fact is, I was replying to Barbbtx's post and your whining is really rather petty. And it is legitimate to note that Sham Wow's secrecy and lack of disclosure extends to other issues

If you attack me for responding to an off topic post rather than the person I responded to, I figure out you must have some need when it comes to me. Obama sucks pure and simple. ANd he most likely got into columbia only because he was black and then into harvard law only because he was black. He could have put all that idiotic birther nonsense to rest by being forthcoming. He was not. The pattern is consistent be it his BC or his college record.
