As for the T-shirt Future Hooters Girl is tasteless, come on...kids *can* be exploited, and that just smacks of wrongness. But then who are you gonna sue? The parents bought the damn shirt.
So now T-shirt sayings are exploitative? I seem to recall much worse childrens t-shirts.

The "boob" kids shirt isn't even original apparently.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Yep, NOW's agenda--to make it easier for ugly women to get ahead in life.

PERSONALLY I'm not that crazy about the place. Sure, the girls are cute, but most of them are young enough to be my daughter, and I find it a little embarassing to have a chick that young leaning in to show me some cleavage in the hope of a better tip. I'm rather conservative socially, ya know.

BUT, It isn't porn, prostitution, or stripping. The costumes aren't really any worse than some HS or College Cheerleader outfits, or things some of your 17-22yo daughters are wearing out to parties. Lots of pretty girls would rather work at Hooters than at McDonald's or Chik-fil-A or Applebees... perhaps it is more fun and I'd bet they get better tips. It's just not that big of a deal.

If I had a daughter who worked at Hooters I'd probably grumble a little about it... because most fathers don't really like to think about their daughters' being viewed with sexual intrest.

I don't think "future hooters girl" is appropriate on a Tshirt for young girls for similar reasons. I wouldn't put one on my little girl... but that's my personal parental choice.

BUT, there are a lot of things that make me uncomfortable or that I think are inappropriate... that DOESN'T mean I think they should be outlawed, legislated against, or sued out of existence in most cases. There's a huge difference between "I'm not comfortable with that" and "I think it should be outlawed or otherwise stopped."

I question NOW's priorities. What about strip joints? If they want to sue someone for "Exploiting" women, why aren't they suing Platinum Plus?

Looks more like a publicity stunt than anything else, if you ask me. NOW has become rather irrelevant and wanted to make some news.
This thread has me seriously wanting a buffalo chicken sandwich with daytona sauce...I haven't had one of those in several months. American food in Africa SUCKS!

You realize that most of the girls don't look like that, right? They pick people for pictures like that from a national pool.
That depends on which particular Hooters you are in. I've been in a couple there were staffed entirely by women who looked that good (or better). Maybe it's just a coincidence, but in one those that was full of great looking girls, I got the second-worse service of any restaurant I've ever been in...

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's like they figure the short-shorts and cleaveage will make up for crappy service. Got a hint for you sweetie: no it doesn't.

Depends on the restaurant, just like any other chain. Most I've been in had great service.

unfortunately, moms and dads will think its "cute" and they will sell like hotcakes. Sex sells. We sexualize our children at a very very early age...inappropriate clothing, beauty pageants, etc. etc. Then we grow up to be women who think we have to go through millions of dollars worth of plastic surgery to be "acceptable" for ourselves and others, to be the perfect woman. Any wonder why we have shows like "bridalplasty" hitting the air.....

    It is sad.

I'll grant you the "Future" T-shirts are in poor taste, and I sure as @#$# would not put one on my daughter, if I had a daughter. (Instead I have a teenage son who likes to eat at Hooters. )
Where is the left with their sexual liberation on this? I thought NOW was about liberating women from the Cleaver Family.
