Yeah, that's why an overwhelming majority of Republicans voted for it.

And it was originally over 11 billion and full of waste and fraud potential. Dems were giving their friends (lawyers) a huge payday.

    Now it's a sensible deal.

Really? How much did the cost drop after Stewart and discussions with Republicans ???

Your attempt at spin won't work anymore.

Your attempt at revisionist histroy is pathetic. The Dems were only on board for 'their' version of the bill... fraught with waste, lawyer kickbacks, etc. The GOP brought it to a screeching halt, until the Dems finally caved in and gave up their fiscally irresponsible version for a more 'fair and balanced' approach.

Like it or not, the GOP was right from day one on this. Of course, you don't give a **** that the GOP got the same benefits to those who need them, with lest cost, and lest waste. All you give a **** about is spewing how evil the GOP is. You're a one trick pony Hay... and your trick is boring.

In the end, everyone won. The first responders get the health care they deserve. The taxpayers saved a ton of money. The Democrats got to lambaste the Republicans for having opposed the bill. The Republicans got to lambaste the Democrats for an overly expensive proposal. Both the Republicans and Democrats can now leap and hoot and tell everyone that it was their party that achieved the best solution. Jon Stewart got a great show and a boost to his career. His advertisers got a big audience to hawk their wares to. Everyone won, no one lost. Partisans on both sides can now point to the greatness of their party.

    Bipartisanship at its finest.

You have shown none of those things in the bill. You simply are a water carrying toadie for the GOP acting as their public relations man on this site. A drastic reduction does not yield the "same benefits" no matter what partisan spin you attempt to put on it.

The Republicans tried to kill this bill and it was only extraordinary efforts to show them to be the self centered Scrooges that they are that propelled them to finally support the effort. Jon Stewart played one of the Dicken's spirits and scared them into support simply not to continue with the Scrooge routine which was damaging their rep.

No, Republicans did not try to kill the bill. They took the fat, pork, and giveaways to lawyers out of it making it a good bill. Before it was a bad bill.

What fat, pork and giveaways? Prove that.

One example: Capped attorney fees for obtaining funds from program at 10%. Before, many had contingency fee contracts as much as 40% to 50% of the money obtained. Would you rather the victims get the money, or a bunch of greedy trial lawyers??

Read th ****ing bill like we did. The Dems caved because they knew it was not going to pass as is, with all the giveaways and costs.

Read a news article in the last month about it. Geez. Do we have to do everything for you?

So it should be easy for you to tell me about the pork and waste. I read it - just like you did - and I found nothing objectionable. So now it back on you to prove your allegations of pork and waste.
