Michael Moore Says Founders Would Have Been "Wikileakers"

I certainly hope you are not ignorant about American History, but you are definitely ignorant about the content of the leaks. He did far more than leak the minor things you mention, which are not even noteworthy. He put American national security and American lives in jeopardy. He also put the lives of many innocent people and their families into danger.

He's a piece of slime and I have no doubt he will face an unfortunate end.

What did he leak that put the national security in danger? I vaguely remember something about Russia, and there was the middle east wanting us to attack Iran. I can understand how that would upset them.. but the fact is, they were for it. Supporting it didn't bother them, us knowing what they support doing is what bothered them and that is funny...

Right off the top of my head, he leaked secret information on an electronic IED jammer that our military has been using. Think that has the possiblity of getting some soldiers killed in Afghanistan??

He also leaked the names of Afghanis that helped the NATO forces by supplying information on the Taliban's movements and identities. Think that will put them and their families in danger ??

I could go on, but hopefully you have the picture now.

Was the stamp act imposed by the American government or the British government ???

See how silly your statement is ??

why am i not surprised the significance of those distinctions is lost on you

MM is a waste of resources. prime candidate for retroactive abortion

And why am I not surprised that you don't see the sigficance of the difference.

you presume that the patriots - out of power - would have objected to his revealing the british government's intent to enact the stamp act

your positions are those of a torry ... someone properly tarred and feathered back in the day

or maybe your light is simply without sufficient wattage

neither circumstance is one which should be broadcast in this public manner

you are calling another posters a dull bulb? OMG that is funny. MM is a turd, pure and simple and he hates America

calling MM a turd is an insult to turds

Thomas Jefferson might have supported Wikileaks. But then, I always thought he was kind of a dick.

People again fall for the falacy that all founding fathers spoke with the same voice.

Michael Moore is guilty of many things (including being a camera/media whore), but an America hater? How exactly does he hate America?

That's one of the very few things I wouldn't be hesitant to accuse him of.
He pretty much admits it on his own, if not blatantly so.

Where has he admitted that he hates America?

Well, he seems hell-bent that we need be more like Cuba. He loves their healthcare system. LOL

I think his argument was that Cuba has a better health care system than we do and that we should improve ours. I fail to see how that is equatable to hating America.

Look, don't get me wrong...I don't like the guy either. I think he is an attention whore and I would love nothing more than him to stop making his stupid ass movies.

I meant "if not blatantly" as in, he never directly admits it. But I can find tons of quotes where he accuses Americans or America of being all sorts of bad things, and I'm having trouble finding one where he says something good about them.

I can at least guarantee you that he passionately loathes at least 40% of Americans (the ones who call themselves conservative).

EDIT: from Wikiquotes:

They are possibly the dumbest people on the planet... in thrall to conniving, thieving, smug pricks. We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance. We don't know about anything that's happening outside our country. Our stupidity is embarrassing. National Geographic produced a survey which showed that 60 percent of 18-25 year olds don't know where Great Britain is on a map. And 92 percent of us don't own a passport.

Yes, he is critical of America and feels that we need to improve according to his views. I still fail to see how that is the same as hating America. If that's the angle you are going to argue, one could say the same about damn near every single political commentator. Does Glenn Beck also hate America?

And I can guarantee you that many Conservatives have a hatred just as passionate for the percentage of Americans who are Liberals. Do they also hate America?

Glenn Beck has a lot of good things to say about America and the American people in general. Michael Moore does not.

It's one thing to write a book, or make a movie, criticizing the American health care system, or the American economy. It's another thing to make movie after movie, write book after book, criticizing every single aspect of America, from its economy to its gun laws to its culture to whatever else comes into his mind. Often, his main reason why things are so screwed up in America, as opposed to the rest of the world, is that its citizens are just too stupid and ignorant to fix things. Again, doing it once or twice wouldn't demonstrate a pattern, but he's moaned on and on about so many completely different aspects of America that it's hard to deny some sort of obsessive distaste for it.

Also, see the edit in my post above.

Actually, they aren't all that different. They both criticize the government for the most part, or big corporations. Michael Moore doesn't really go after "people in general".

Which tells me that he's an attention whore and likes making money, which also kind of makes him a hypocrite because he's so critical of rich people and big business. Saying that he "hates America" is a blanket statement and simply not true. He's critical of America and wants to see it improved according to his own views. We all do to a certain extent.

Here's that quote again in case you missed it:

Pretty much says all you need to know, really.

Amazing that you don't see Beck, Limbaugh et al. in the same light.

I equate that to:

Glenn = critical of the US government = loves America because he and Dav lean in a similar fashion
Mike Moore = critical of the US government = hates America because he and Dav lean in different directions

That's EXACTLY what you are reflecting.
