True, it's not an issue at all, it's more of an insight into the man running my country. Hardly as serious as something like Palin getting a reality show.
I thought it was more of an insight into the people who write his messages for him.....

It took about as much skill as it takes to jump over a rope which is laid out on the ground.

Now you're just showing your maturity with the rest of that post.

The end result is Obama talked about himself more often in that release than he talked about the current recipient.

    Narcissistic.

nah... just much ado about nothing (like the other poster stated). Claiming Kanye West "calling you a racist" as the worst thing to happen to you while President (vs. 9-11, blame of Katrina mis-handling, an economic crisis, rising unemployment, etc.) gives more insight into the mindset of a leader vs. an opening statement to a peace prize presentation. Link me to that outrage please.

I was assuming it was created by his communications department rather than himself. Perhaps he okayed it, which may or may not say something. To me, I doubt this was much of importance to him.

Yes... it's so arrogant. Especially when your next statement is:

"Mr. Liu Xiaobo is far more deserving of this award than I was."

It's called setting the stage for grand recognition. Humbling your own status in order to recognize the greater achievement of another is nothing ground-breaking. These reactions are so lame because most of you would agree with the quote above, yet can't resist a chance at a jab or two.
