Honestly, I've never heard anyone refer to himself as much as Obama does.

Of course he wasn't deserving! And hasn't it ALWAYS been about Obama? He cannot congratulate himself enough because, frankly, the rest of the country and world are finally waking up and scratching their heads asking themselves, "What's so great about this guy again"?

So Obama has to remind them you see. It's all about repeating something until it's generally accepted, though Obama's got a checkered history of accomplishments where that is concerned.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

The remarks of President Obama were perfectly appropriate in every way. This is just the typical knee jerk critical reaction from the far right against anything Obama does. If our President walked across the Potomac river to Virginia skimming the tops of the water, some here and in the Republican Party would criticize him for not swimming. That is the sad hyper-partisan reality that we live in thanks to the Party of No and the disease of far right ideology.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

that's not the thread topic ... the one YOU fashioned

when nailed for misrepresenting Obama's self deprication as arrogance ... by truncating his speech ... you now want to deflect toward another discussion

rev, this misrepresented thread speaks to your character ... and not in a favorable way

c'mon rev, this thread misrepresentation is weak, even for you
As I said.. having the anecdote in there is fine, and I have no problem with the wording... however, STARTING off with it is arrogant. It belonged a little further in, after talking solely about the current recipient and his situation. By talking about himself first (even adding the 'but he is much more deserving' line), it shows arrogance.
