Then accept my challenge, either way the board gets a donation.

Telling me to shove it up my ass however, might get you into hot water.

What you do is up to you.
What you think abotu yourself is up to you.

Get this and get it straight. I DO NOT CARE IF YOU EVER SAID ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT OBAMA. Got that?

I have seen your knee jerk criticisms of Obama in thread after thread and your vitriol boil over time and time again. You do NOT get immunity from that because you may have spoken positively on other occasions. And what you do with your ass is also no concern of mine. And I already told you that.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

I must be missing the point.
yes, you are
It seems you're upset that the conservatives don't join the "Obama love parade" enough. Is that it?
actually, he confirmed there have been instances those on your side offered posts lauding Obama's actions when he stated this:
... the fact that you or any other right wing extremist has had positive things to say about Obama ...
reading comprehension was the fail in this occasion
my suggestion to prevent its recurrence would be to ignore this: gloss over > post > think
and replace it with this: read > think > post
will be looking forward to recognizing the improvement in your future narratives

Oh here's my sincere appology to the Democratic leftist marxist terrorists for acknowledging that my side of the fence isn't always critical.

You're right. I've spent approximately 2.3 seconds thinking about this and another .5 seconds is probably needed. Thanks for the suggestion.

the end result here is that Hay will be upset and whine whenever someone says something negative about Obama. He'd prefer us all to say nothing but positive things about the President, and if we only say occasional nice things, then those nice things don't matter.

I accept your concession.

It goes to show how I am far more objective, even when I start one sorta silly thread on Obama, than present company. Thank you for that.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

Yeah?

Did he need to finish off with this?

I regret that Mr. Liu and his wife were denied the opportunity to attend the ceremony that Michelle and I attended last year.

Yeah?

Did he mention he won it last year? Oh he did?

Nevermind.

Which is not true at all. Just this week I have been critical of Obama and how he has handled the tax hike situation.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

/facepalm
You would think that this man wouldn't be so arrogant, (yes arrogant) about his pre-emptive peace prize when faced with someone imprisoned for thier work......

You're foaming... here is the entire statement:

One year ago, I was humbled to receive the Nobel Peace Prize – an award that speaks to our highest aspirations, and that has been claimed by giants of history and courageous advocates who have sacrificed for freedom and justice. Mr. Liu Xiaobo is far more deserving of this award than I was.

All of us have a responsibility to build a just peace that recognizes the inherent rights and dignity of human beings – a truth upheld within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In our own lives, our own countries, and in the world, the pursuit of a just peace remains incomplete, even as we strive for progress. This past year saw the release of Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, even as the Burmese people continue to be denied the democracy that they deserve. Nobel Laureate Jose Ramos Horta has continued his tireless work to build a free and prosperous East Timor, having made the transition from dissident to President. And this past year saw the retirement of Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu, whose own career demonstrates the universal power of freedom and justice to overcome extraordinary obstacles.

The rights of human beings are universal – they do not belong to one nation, region or faith. America respects the unique culture and traditions of different countries. We respect China’s extraordinary accomplishment in lifting millions out of poverty, and believe that human rights include the dignity that comes with freedom from want. But Mr. Liu reminds us that human dignity also depends upon the advance of democracy, open society, and the rule of law. The values he espouses are universal, his struggle is peaceful, and he should be released as soon as possible. I regret that Mr. Liu and his wife were denied the opportunity to attend the ceremony that Michelle and I attended last year. Today, on what is also International Human Rights Day, we should redouble our efforts to advance universal values for all human beings.

Epic. F'n. Fail. Not only is the OP dishonest, so is the article's title.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

Lets examine this...

One year ago, I was humbled to receive the Nobel Peace Prize...
Opening a statement meant to honor the current recipient, by talking about yourself? ARROGANT.

– an award that speaks to our highest aspirations, and that has been claimed by giants of history and courageous advocates who have sacrificed for freedom and justice.
Again, talking about himself like he is indeed the second coming. WTF did Obama sacrifice?.. ARROGANT

Mr. Liu Xiaobo is far more deserving of this award than I was.
A little false modesty never hurt anyone, right?

The entire opening paragraph... all about Obama instead of the current recipient. He mentions the current recipient only in passing. ARROGANT

Here we have the main body of the statement from Obama. 3 past Nobel Laureates are mentioned by name... not the current recipient.
Not arrogant, just lame.

FINALLY! In the closing remarks of the statement, we hear about the current recipient. It's about ****ing time.

I regret that Mr. Liu and his wife were denied the opportunity to attend the ceremony that Michelle and I attended last year. Today, on what is also International Human Rights Day, we should redouble our efforts to advance universal values for all human beings.
And of course, since he opened the statement talking about himself instead of the current recipient, he has to close it talking about himself instead of the current recipient... can you say NARCISSIST? Sure you can.

As I said.. having the anecdote in there is fine, and I have no problem with the wording... however, STARTING off with it is arrogant. It belonged a little further in, after talking solely about the current recipient and his situation. By talking about himself first (even adding the 'but he is much more deserving' line), it shows arrogance.

.

Not sure if it's arrogance stating that he (Liu Xiaobo) is more deserving than Obama so much as just pointing out the obvious. Sounded a little silly to those familiar with Obama's earlier "win".......

Try it bolded this way instead.

much ado about nothing rev.

Exactly, here is the full statement by the President.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

Exactly, here is the full statement by the President...

I'm guessing the fact that the statement was posted several times in whole in this thread and dissected already... was lost on you. Probably because you read the opening post only and did not bother to follow along with the rest of us.

Short attention span, huh.

Fail.... at what? Dude, just admit it. You posted a lame attack thread and didn't even bother to check up on it. Then got your ass handed to you. End of story.

Re: Obama honors Nobel winner with statement about himself Read more at the Washingt

The remarks of President Obama were perfectly appropriate in every way. This is just the typical knee jerk critical reaction from the far right against anything Obama does. If our President walked across the Potomac river to Virginia skimming the tops of the water, some here and in the Republican Party would criticize him for not swimming. That is the sad hyper-partisan reality that we live in thanks to the Party of No and the disease of far right ideology.

Come on, both sides are equally guilty and your own partisanship prevents you from seeing that...

This is just as silly as the Democrats who criticized the "Rats" on that campaign ad years ago... shesh... both sides of the U.S. body politic are simply ill, sick, and delusional...
