CBS News Poll: Most Oppose GOP Tax Plan

Hit a raw nerve, did I now? Consider yourself as collateral damage and move on.

that is even more moronic. I just laugh at the specious bovine excrement you spew. you just make stuff up with no support.

There are several rude conservatives here at DP who only have a few things to say, and think that repeating those same things over and over again is actual debating. I have put most of them on ignore, and there are 2 more who are on a short leash.
Their basic problem is that they can't disagree without being disagreeable...

do you feel the same way about the rude liberals who tend to agree with you on your soak the rich proclivities?

Ive been listening to Hannity and Limbaugh and a morning conservative talk radio show lately. It is DISGUSTING how they twist the truth like a pretzel. Or just flat out lie. And none of them call it what it IS!!! They are calling it an economic investment. And a Tax Reinvestment Plan..... those are just TWO spin titles. (cant remember the others)
I have by chance been able to listen to both during the past week, and you are full of crap. They have stated, and continue to correctly state it is not a tax cut. That at 2-years it is not going to give investors and businesses confidence to invest or hire because Obama says he will sock it to them in 2-years given the chance.

Rush has said, and I agree... let's actually cut taxes.

THEEEN... Hannity calls the unemployeed LAZY!
Another flat out lie... Media Matters would jump on this like a Columbia University Pedophile would jump on his daughter... and I can't find the clip. Can you?

This is akin to the false quotes attributed to Coulter. You going to the Obvious Child School of Debate Tactics?

They should just pull themselves up and get a job. Or two...or five jobs. Then he talks about how heroic HE was when HE had *cough* financial trouble *cough* and how he got a job in less than 16 days because of his hard work and dedication. The TOTAL ignorance of this man is HUGE. The spin and BS is also HUGE.
The guy came from a blue collar environment, and made it due to his own will and perseverance. Check out the stops on his rise to the top... he had more travel than an enlisted man working his way up the ranks.

He wasn't handed his position like a Kennedy... or a Cuomo.

I am soooooooo sick and disgusted at the GOP! They ACT like they are similar to Libertarians but they are just as Socialist as Democrats!!!
This makes no sense at all. Hannity has actually tried to assist those unemployed... urging them to move forward, to look and be willing to be mobile. Yesterday he spoke with a guy locked out of a nuke facility in KY for 6-months. It was a heartfelt but honest appraisal of what the guy could do.

Rush... believes we should gut taxes and let the free market help solve the unemployment situation. Obamanomiks... is breeding precisely what Republicans said it does ... government dependence.

Long ago... when they had Clinton screaming and whining before signing on to the Welfare Reform Bill... and welfare recipients confirmed the harsh truth. Welfare becomes a life style. It is destructive. 99-weeks... not enough?

Then how about cutting taxes, slashing regulations, and getting the ****ing government out of the way? We know the Obama-Carter economic plan is a failure. How about trying something proven to work every time it has been tried... and gutting the pig called government?

My bet is the problem is more like this... their arguments defeat your socialist, class warfare claims every damn time and you just can't stand it... and therefore, in your fits of intolerance... I mean moments of open-mindedness... you block their posts.

Typical Lib. Narrower than a needle.

That kind of info is why I think that THIS recession will last longer than previous ones, and there will be more lingering effects.
I definitely agree with you there.

more lies-tax cuts cost nothing and you have to prove that tax hikes will result in higher revenues which you cannot. The clinton tax hikes were an aberration due to the massive dot com bubble combined with the increased efficiencies that occurred as a result of corporate belt tightening under Bush

It's already been proven. I don't know, take a look around you. It is a fact that 20% of private sector new jobs are created by small business and start-ups. Big business is not in the business of creating jobs. They are in the business of shedding them via increased productivity and smaller workforce. Thus, higher margins. Know what's really funny? The Bushies and your economic policies lost 800,00 private sector jobs over 8 years. So - what happened? I mean, we should be hummin' right along.

Fact is, cuts for the top 2% grant little in stimulus. Any first year economist knows this. It gets you .30 on every dollar spent, if that. If you don't need to pay for it, why was this president stuck with $7.5 trillion of conservative tax cut debt and a shattered economy from the git-go? Just like Clinton got from you guys. Actually, George Sr. was the one who suffered.

Even David Stockman disagrees with you. You know him, right? The architect of Reaganomics? Reagan's Budget Director? David Stockman? Him? He thinks ya'll have lost your minds.

If you pay attention job creation has nothing to do with my position on why the rich should pay less and people like you should pay more. Stockman is a nobody now.

The great crime for which the worshippers of Ronald Reagan can never forgive Stockman for is he turned against their ideology. He realized it did not work and he is no longer a True Believer worshipping at the trickle down altar. He is a heretic and must be hunted down and dispatched to the nether worlds of politics.

what is funny is how the moonbat left howled for this guy's head when he was against Lib excess and now that he has bought into the socialist nonsense, he's paened as a great liberator. sort of like David Brock who went from being a closet case conservative to a flaming lib. of course LIbs hate Dick "the whore" Morris and David SDS Horwitz.

Dick Morris, toe sucker champion? You righties are more than welcome to him. Horowitz is very very small potatoes compared to Stockman.

Stockman doesn't matter anymore-he never really mattered to start with

Stockman doesn't matter anymore-he never really mattered to start with

He sort of crashed and burned

On March 26, 2007, federal prosecutors in Manhattan indicted Stockman in "a scheme ... to defraud [Collins & Aikman]'s investors, banks and creditors by manipulating C&A's reported revenues and earnings." At the same time, the Securities and Exchange Commission brought civil charges against Stockman related to actions he took while CEO of Collins & Aikman.[7] Stockman suffered a personal financial loss, estimated at $13 million, along with losses suffered by as many as 15,000 Collins & Aikman employees worldwide. Stockman said in a statement posted on his law firm's Web site that the company's collapse was the consequence of an industry melt-down, not fraud.[8] On January 9, 2009, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced that it did not intend to prosecute Stockman in this case.

Thanks turtle for proving my point. I can always depend on you to come through. You see Stockman as a heretic, and to a True Believer like yourself, that is his real crime.

Lmfao... Oh my, you're a nasty one, aren't you?

I hope that's not the best you got. First of all, my (and Dems in general) net worth is not attached to my self worth and identity. So seriously, that's a pretty crappy insult where Democrats are concerned. Second, you don't know what my net worth is to make such a presumptuous statement in the first place.

Now, quit using this ultra-con tactic on me - you know, destroy the legitimacy of the man (or organization), without ever having to really address the policy. It won't work and neither will talking points, at least not with me.

I judge people on what they say. After this guy failed he started adopting the mindset of what appeals to failures. Tax the rich welfare socialists

You have me confused with someone who cares what you are saying. Stockman failed miserably after leaving the Reagan administration and he now spews nonsense. I am not the one who brought him up to support my position.

And your insult of me is a violation

Really? I judge them by what they do. The rest is pretty much crap.

I've noticed there is a theme with anyone you fine zealots deem unworthy: Anyone whom doesn't swallow every tenet of the ideology. No disagreement or words of warning allowed. There are your supposed heretics. Let the personal destruction games begin!

Really? I judge them by what they do. The rest is pretty much crap.

Why don't you address that to the perpetrator? I mean, TurtleDude didn't say it, but of course, neither did I. So why don't you talk to me rather than around me? Because frankly, I have only spoken to this particular issue under these circumstances. You don't know what I believe where tax policy is concerned.

Actually, I guess my real question is, why do you feel you need to garner supporters, rather than stand on your own two feet and address someone head on, without "allies?"

Insult? It was a judgement based on "what I see." "People like you should pay more" Unless you can honestly say that wasn't the first shot, I stand by it. Again, you know nothing about me, especially where my business is concerned. And you don't know my tax policy. Period.

where did I ever say that. I strongly support the party that is against higher taxes on the highest tax payers. I think the dem party sucks, and the GOP sucks far less. How much did I net last year? ALOT more than most but nothing close to say Bill Gates or LeBron James

So that's what's behind your leave-the-rich-alone stance. You're one of them.

Well, I've read a ton of Turtle's posts and think I can probably hit the nail squarely as to why. It has nothing about being "one of them", and it is simple to explain logical, and can be explained in two parts.

Are you seated?

1. It's merely a matter of what will provide the greatest good to the greatest number of the long term.

Socialism, with their Madoff Schemes have always failed and will always fail. Just look at the monumental financial mess we have on our hands. The result of socialism run amok.

The government is too detached, too slow, too corrupted, breeds dependence, and sucks out wads of cash from the hands of individuals... and then they don't even live up to the promises they make. They spend the money and want more, and more, and more!

Fail.org should have a picture of our Federal Government on page 1, as well as every other Eurosocialist welfare state.

2. Liberty.

Money/Possessions are the result of your labor; mental or physical. It can even be from luck... though rarely is so, but who cares... so long as it was legally gained?

And why is my Turtle's or anyone's wealth subject to limitation by the government through punitive, graduated taxation? Something right out of the Communist Manifesto. Equal is equal. We should all be taxed the same. Someone busting their ass and producing shouldn't be taxed higher than and subsidizing Joe 6-pack, or the local potheads.

Using the government to act as a conduit to walk into the house or bank account of individuals to steal wealth, only to run it through the government grinder and turn a dollar into 25cents isn't liberating to anyone. It breeds the worst in people. A mentality of looking to government, the thief, to solve your problems, to run your life, and the sickness called class warfare.

Your 2 points contradict each other. Bottom line is Republicans dont want to help pull their weight. They DONT want to be a team player. And the majority of Republicans rarely work nearly as hard as others. Ive seen it. I lived it. Boil it down and Republicans are greedy children that dont want to play ball. They dont want to help others SOOOOOOOO the government will FORCE Republicans to help out the rest of the Nation. Sad but true. They arent team players.

And this comment:
Someone busting their ass and producing shouldn't be taxed higher than and subsidizing Joe 6-pack, or the local potheads.

Is 100% ignorant. So you think their money goes to pot heads??? And whats this Joe 6-pack ****? Sounds like youve got one twisted view of reality making those comments. PLUS you think low income people DONT bust their ass???? You really need to stop voting until you understand life and reality.
