How can there be a budget shortfall when the Legislature hasn't met yet and the numbers aren't there for review? TX has a part time legislature that meets every two years. The next session is upcoming and they will create a budget. TX has to have a balanced budget and my bet is they will do it without raising taxes. By the way no state income taxe here either.

Dead last in the nation in high school diplomas but number one in Fortune 1000 companies? Make sense to you. I prefer you staying in Illinois and keeping your social engineering there. TX just elected another 20 Republicans to the Legislature so it now has 101 Republicans and 49 Democrats. Come see me in two years.

I do want to thank you for sending Caterpillar to us with their thousands of jobs. I really have no problem with you remaining in one of the highest tax states in the country. I would prefer people like you remaining in those states as you would never survive here.

Um, wow. Thanks for proving the stats correct. I know a hell of a lot more about Texico than you do, it appears. Sorry, you're $25 billion in the hole. And yes, you rigged the legislature. You should be proud. Your education system is in shambles and you have decided against teaching science. Any bone-head can work in a factory. What you need are engineers, and they aren't running for Texas, especially since you have rewritten history texts to suit your fundies. Strict creationism and rational men don't coexist well. Never have, never will. Enjoy Texico. I'd rather have a technology corridor than a refinery or $12.00 an hour manufacturing jobs. Temps make that where I live.

You seem to be putting a lot of faith in the projected budget gap. I am sure you will be no where to be found when it is closed without raising taxes. Liberals have a problem admitting when wrong so they simply trump up a budget gap that hasn't happened yet. Who projected that Budget gap? Better to wait and see what happens vs. spouting something as fact and making a fool of yourself.

you are mad at people who are going to be tax payers moving to your state? That is why I want more state power and less federal government power and taxation. We'd have states full of looters that would starve when all the tax payers moved to states that don't have high income taxes or death taxes. and the reason why the left wants more and more federal involvement is to prevent that.

Actually, I don't have to worry about my state at all. We're good. But thanks for your concern. Chicago math? No such thing. We actually do pretty well with math and science here. Reading, too. You can have Cat. Nobody here is worried about it. Glad to see them go. 3 months working, three months laid off is no way to live. Enjoy your little plant, but I wouldn't go to work there unless you want unemployment 6 months out of every year.

Trust me, I know. Peoria is only 50 mi. from where I grew up. Know a lot of folks that worked there over the years. Personally, I'm just happy they stayed in the US (for now), which is the difference between you and I. I support the United States. You support Texico and your own bellies.

You are right, we don't have a state income tax cut we do have property taxes and sales taxes. Thousands of new jobs moving to TX increases the tax base of the state, they buy things including homes.

You seem so miserable here, why don't you move?

LOL, by what standards? Budget deficit, state debt, tax rates, unemployment? You really don't seem to know what is going on in your state. Apparently a lot more people disagreed with you at the Nov 2 elections. How is that hope and change working out for you?

years ago leftwingers mainly wanted to comfort the afflicted-sometimes for altruistic reasons, sometimes to gain votes but that was their main ambition. If that mean afflicting the comfortable they could live with that but that wasn't their main goal. now many on the left are nothing more than spiteful losers who want to inflict misery on others.

Problem with many liberals is that they don't know how to disgree with anything presented other than with personal attacks and feelings. I have yet to see any liberal post non partisan data to support their point of view but they certainly have no problem telling others that their data is wrong. Just once I want a liberal to support their claim with verifiable facts. Not going to happen.
