How about going back to to manditory PE in school and not make it some wimpy program. Heck I remember PE in high school where we had a session on wrestling, track, etc. It was not a recreational PE. How about parents getting their offsprings off their butts (parents also) and get out and play.
My generation did not need the Govt telling us what we ccanand can't eat. If think the govt. should, it says a lot about what road this country may be heading down.

Under this mandate in the stimulus law, Secretary Sebelius issued a regulation--developed by Dr. Blumenthal--that requires that all EHRs keep track of a personís Body Mass Index (BMI) score. Body Mass Index is a ratio between a personís weight and height, and is used to determine whether or not someone is overweight or obese. It is the preferred method of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for measuring obesity.

Michelle Obama has made dealing with the problem of childhood obesity the main theme of her term as First Lady.

Nothing would surprise me with this administration.
And this item you're posting here--which has very little to do with Michelle Obama and even less with the govt trying to "take over and make decisions for us"--scares you because...you don't want your doctor to know how tall you are nor how much you weigh?
    I may be wrong.

A lot of preprocessed food is widely known as being unhealthy and fattening.. even baby formula is well known to be less beneficial to a baby, but it's a million dollar industry. We live in society of consumption and convenience, so when a female doesn't learn how to breast feed quickly, she just goes to formula.... even if she is poor, she'll move to formula and get it via WIC. That has become acceptable today.

It's easier to be unhealthy and convenient than it is to LEARN how to be independent.. how to make your own food, grow your own vegetables, be an economic independent entity and feeding yourself while you are rich or poor

I am not saying this is deserving of government punishment, but I believe self sufficiency and independence are a major part of our founding principle values. If people learned how to grow their own food and feed themselves independently again, I think the poor would be less likely to starve without assistance and WIC would be less of an occurrence.

It really seems like common sense to me..

Exactly - intervention and guidance wouldn't BE necessary if people didn't choose - on their own and iwth their freedom - to become fat lazy slobs.
People had freedom - and are just ruinging their health and the health of their children with their freedom.

What happens to freedom when you abuse it? You lose it.

If people don't want the government to get involvedi n your personal life you shouldn't give them a reason - you know, if I don't want my car serached I shouldn't give the cops a reason to think I'm stoking some toke.

    Just stop already.
Couldn't agree with you more here. The Left fears her because they view her as a threat to their power base. The GOP establishment fears her because they view her as a threat to their power base.

This is all about the Ruling Class protecting it's own and it's own power. Nothing more, nothing less.

No, lots of folks can't stand him. The good thing about him not leaving is that we get to vote him out of office in 2013.
