I love being lectured on democracy by an american who refuses to understand the US does not care about democracy, only its security. It did not care about democracy in South Korea, the Phillipenes, Latin America etc. Only in some european countries and Japan has the US "cared" about democracy. It only really cared about capitalism, not democracy

The entire Canadian Budget is 280 Billion Canadian dollars thus you are right, they don't have a lot to cut back nor do they need to, for as you stated we are there to protect them.

Neil Young and Robbie Robertson, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifer are Canada's best contribution to music. Avril sucks IMHO but she is somewhat hot

Yes because the evil mexicans are waiting to invade canada

No country in the world with the exception of the US has the ability to invade Canada. Russia just has the resources to invade countries along its boarder, China just has the capabilty to invad Taiwan, but not to cross the Pacific and invade Canada.

yes a country could attack Canada by using a missle attack or by airplance. But Canada does have the industrial capacity to build equipment to respond within a year.

I like the US, especially the Bears

The US is however paranoid

Security in september and August at US airports was tighter then what I experienced in Chinese airports in August

No shoe removal, no belt removal no swabs for explosives, a metal detector and a person holding metal dector wand for those that forgot to remove belts. No nudie scans or touching my junk. Although a few of the chinese woman manning the security at the airports could have and I would not have minded

if a chinese plane got blown up and the PLA could trace that to some country I suspect the country would cease to exist

Canada is a minor nation. 33 million people spread over a large land mass does not make a major power. Thankfully we live accross vast swaths of water that makes invading Canada rather difficult logistically for most potential invaders
