You always can depend on conservative to place blame on liberals for what the conservatives are doing themselves. The fact is conservatives buy votes by offering lower taxes.

what's worse

telling people who already pay far far more than they use and far far more than their share of the national income that if you vote for us we won't screw you over any more or telling people who don't pay near as much as what they use that if you vote for us, we will make people who already pay far far more than you do pay even more?

Still waiting for that Canadian Budget and how much of that budget is spent on the military? Wonder how many millions of people have been given their freedom by this country? Think that the dictators around the world and terrorists with no leadership are going to react with a reduced military in this country. I am sure they will leave us alone.

Well to be honest it seams like thats almost all you care about. Offer up a new idea every so often.

You seem to have a problem with people keeping more of what they earn and prefer buying votes by allowing 47% of the people to not pay any Federal Income taxes at all. Wonder how those people who don't pay any Federal Income taxes feel about raising the taxes on the rich?

What are you talking about? SS should be paid out of its own fund, not the General Fund. SS has been part of the General Fund since LBJ put it there so that the govt. could get their hands on the money to pay for the Vietnam War and the Great Society. SS has no business in the general fund.

oh there are lots of things I care about-such as say the state of the US table tennis team in world competition or whether Brady Ellision is going to be our first individual medalist in 12 years in the next olympic archery competition but this board really isn't the place to discuss that

Lets see

Canada was involved in WW1 from the beginning, WW2 from the beginning, rather then being a ***** and waiting untill the tide was turned. We lost thousands of men before the US got off it but and decided to do anything

Unlike the US, Canada does not support dictators, overthrow democracies, and claim to be a supporter of democracy. We actually support democracy. Not just lip service like a cheap hooker.

Im not opposed to your idea but what do with the people who rely upon these entitlements because they were promised they would get them. They will most likely vote out anyone who takes it away and put in place someone who will put it back.

Why don't you just crawl into that box and hope that your enemies pass you by. You didn't answer the question. I love being lectured on democracy from a Canadian. the best Canadian ally in the world is the United States. It would be the first you turned to in need yet you have such disdain for our country and our democracy. It really is a shame for all we would like every now and then is a simple thank you

SS has to be reformed and Bush tried to do that. Let the younger people put some of their money into their own IRA or other retirement account and keep the promise to those over the age of 50 regardless of what it costs.

Showing up late for battles in which Canadians were dieing for 3 year before the US decided to join.

Or should I thank the US for protecting us from the evils of Grenada, which was threatening to Invade Canada, or perhaps Panama, or how about the massed army of Nicaragua that was going to roll through Mexico into texas all the way up to Canada

I love being lectured on democracy by an american who refuses to understand the US does not care about democracy, only its security. It did not care about democracy in South Korea, the Phillipenes, Latin America etc. Only in some european countries and Japan has the US "cared" about democracy. It only really cared about capitalism, not democracy
