Romney has stated he will increase military spending. What spending cuts has Romney proposed???? Has he said he plans to cut SS? No. Has he said he plans to cut medicare? No

So we are just looking a Bush III with Romney.

Bush 3 is better than Obama 2 but data and facts always confuse you. Romney will focus on economic growth and job creation. we don't need higher taxes we need more taxpayers. Obviously it doesn't matter what Obama says because you want it to be all about Romney. Obama will add 5.7 trillion to the debt in his first term but that is ok. You haven't even read the Romney plan which will cut Medicare expenses by increasing the age to collect but that fact escaped you as you are too busy buying the media spin

This destroys your argument about higher taxes on those evil rich people. Maybe you ought to read less of the leftwing bs and actually see what is going on in the country

Poll: 75 percent of Americans think wealthy should pay 30 percent or less in taxes

Poll: 75 Percent Of Americans Think Wealthy Should Pay 30 Percent Or Less In Taxes | Fox News
WASHINGTON (AP) — Most people like President Barack Obama’s proposal to make millionaires pay a significant share of their incomes in taxes. Yet they’d still rather cut spending than boost taxes to balance the federal budget, an Associated Press-GfK poll shows, giving Republicans an edge over Democrats in their core ideological dispute over the nation’s fiscal ills.
The survey suggests that while Obama’s election-year tax plan targeting people making at least $1 million a year has won broad support, it has done little to shift people’s basic views in the long-running partisan war over how best to tame budget deficits that lately have exceeded $1 trillion annually.

The poll showed that overall, more people have a positive view of Democrats than Republicans, a ray of hope for Obama and his fellow Democrats with the approach of November’s presidential and congressional elections. Fifty-four percent in the poll gave Democrats favorable ratings compared to 46 percent for Republicans, similar to results in January 2011, at the start of the newly elected Congress in which Republicans have run the House and Democrats wield a slender Senate majority.

What far too many liberals want to ignore is the reality that we have a spending problem not a revenue problem but the fact remains we need more taxpayers not higher taxes on the people paying most of the taxes now. People seem to have a short term memory with no thought to the fact that when Federal taxes go up, state taxes are affected. rich people didn't get rich by being stupid, they are going to move to lower taxed states and their money to offshore.

I see your one fox poll, and raise you 23 different polls that show the great majority support raising the tax rates for the wealthy.

Personally, I think there's a balance point between higher and lower tax rates.

Too high, and you reduce revenues - too low, and the same occurs.

From another angle, IMO overly high taxes have other negative effects beyond reducing revenue – yet taxes which are low enough to reduce revenue may have positive effects.

Edit: Thus, IMO, it's best to err on the side of lower taxes, if you're unsure.

The tax rates for the wealthy I have seen proposed are not even as high as they were under the Republican presidents, Eisenhower, Nixon, and Ford.
