Were the Bush Tax Cuts Good for Growth?

So here come those property taxes again.....
Has the IRS raided your back yard garden? I dont think so.

As long as I take what the government didnt......to the grave.
Darn right, gold and diamond encrusted coffin is what I am going to be buried in. It will also be electrified through a fuel cell generator buried along with me. The fuel cell will be powered by a direct tie up with a natural gas line pre paid for 200 years. No grave robbers will be getting my stuff when I am dead for a long time
The IRS would like to discuss this with you.....
What they dont know wont hurt them

Your right....Ben Franklin is wrong.

As with most cliches they are generally correct but are not universal truths. Tribal groups dead in the Amazon are not paying taxes to the Brazilian government

You could take up residence on an Indian reservation... and sell fireworks.

Sounds like a pretty hefty tax bill for all that.........

Thats not very patriotic in Joe Biden's book.....

Certainly not. The diamonds and gold will be smuggled in from the Ivory Coast, it will be more expensive then buying them using normal channels but by god the tax man wont get my money

Who cares about the state of the union, I just dont want to pay taxes. If the country goes tits up all the better

Which shows that death is certain, taxes are not

I have told you before, but you need to look at REAL GDP if you are comparing years, otherwise some of that growth could simply be due to inflation.

You'd be wasting your time. Conservative only looks at nominal numbers, as they support his arguments best. 8% growth sounds a lot better when you don't know there's 15% inflation.

So when did the US government not impose its will on the people via brute force?

it does so every day. imposing its will on the populace via the threat of force is the most basic function of government.

CFL and some LEDs. I live in a new very energy efficient condo that is close to work ( 5 miles ) so that I dont have to waste time in traffic or spend a huge amount of money on gas.

I hate wasting money, and I dont like when the government wastes my money. So I vote to oust the ones that do regardless of ideology. I prefer competence to ideological purity

Substance over image as well? There are now a few developers in the Phoenis area that tout their efficient homes and are offering solar packages. FINALLY....
There is little need for heat in Phoenix, just a few days a month during winters, and more during the nights. Passive solar techniques used during contstruction could cut that down considerably.
A few years back the developers were building and selling what seemed to be a good deal, price wise. But the low prices were offset by having to spend a fortune on gasoline. I went to look at a boat in one area southeast of the city, was beginning to wonder if I was lost and had been given bum directions. I went for miles in the desert before I saw the signs for the development. The prices were very low, which attracted the buyers. But the commute is murder. OF course, soon after that time frame, gas prices started going up. What they gained in low home prices, they lost in gasoline bills.

Wait until the American Power Act kicks in. Do you have a wood burner or an old fashioned evaporating cooling unit that works on Wind and Water? How about a bicycle...horse...mule..etc.? A garden? Can you hunt? Fish?

Our Utah house is empty right now, we leave the thermostat at 55 degrees while we are gone. The south facing windows, lots of them, let in a lot of sun during sunny days. The kitchen dining area is a sun space, with tile floors to collect the heat. The basement, before we finished it, would remain in the high 50's no matter how cold it is outside. The center wall in the basement is load bearing, and solid concrete, not wood frame. It acts as a heat sink. In the summer, the basement never needs AC, in the winter, just a little heat, but we only add heat if we are down there. I thought about a wood stove, but the house really doesn't need it so far. A well built house can save a lot of energy in heating and cooling bills....

You dont want to pay taxes

Dont earn a taxable income, sell your homes, buy second hand goods and grow your own food

You will then not pay any taxes, your quality of life might take a big drop, but you wont pay a single cent in taxes

The federal prison system has an alternative route....with free room and board as well.

Generally, I wont spend the $240 on a pair of Diesel shoes or jeans, when I can find a pair of good stylish ones at $50. I didnt choose my vehicles to impress my neighbors, but because they were among the best in the category or a really great deal. When I do go for the image route it is for something that is going to last and remain useable for a long time (like a good watch

One thing I have learned about myself, although I like driving (or riding) I hate commuting and being stuck in traffic. I have lived close to the inner city (downtown) for most of my life, and will continue to do so because of the dislike of commuting. A waste of gas and time. (Our inner city is not a crime ridden slum for everyones knowledge
