Gas for heating and nuclear for electricity make sense. Solar will never do any more than it does now, which is heat home swimming pools. The state fish hatchery at Ennis, MT, got $60,000 in federal stimulus money to install solar panels which will (maybe) save them $1,500 per year. At that rate, it will take 40 years to justify the initial cost. However, solar panels only have a life expectancy of 15 years (or 25, according to reports of the newer models). It is expenditures like this that got the Dems thrown out in the last election.Natural gas, nuclear energy, and very soon, solar will be able to meet a large part of our energy needs. All we need is the will to become energy independent.
