Obama's 200 million dollar trip to Mumbai debunked.

    Trip to Mumbai | FactCheck.org

Q: Is President Obama’s trip to India going to cost $200 million per day?
For example, the entire U.S. war effort in Afghanistan currently costs less than that — about $5.7 billion per month, according to the Congressional Research Service, or roughly $190 million per day. How could a peaceful state visit cost more than a war?

It is always costly to move a U.S. president around the world. And in this case, the president is attending a G-20 meeting and will be accompanied by several cabinet officials. But given the dubious source of this assertion, the fact that the claimed cost exceeds the cost of a war, the flat denial by the White House and the lack of any evidence to support the claim, we’ll classify this one as false.

On Nov. 4, Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell called the story "absolutely absurd," because it had claimed that the U.S. Navy was sending 34 warships to the coast off Mumbai as part of the president’s visit:
So how much did those trips cost? In the case of some Clinton trips, we have figures from a 1999 report by the U.S. General Accounting Office — now called the Government Accountability Office. The GAO said that Clinton’s trips to Africa, Chile and China in 1998 cost at least $42.8 million, $10.5 million and $18.8 million, respectively — not counting the still-classified cost of providing Secret Service protection.
In Africa, Clinton was accompanied by about 1,300 individuals — not including members of the Secret Service — representing the White House, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. The president visited six countries in 12 days, which means the trip cost $3.6 million per day.
    In other words....

Nothing to see here ugly chickens, move along.
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK

Because it's so much fun to point it out. Why is it that this stuff always seems to make onto Fox News as an actual story even though it's unsubstantiated? And Glenn Beck always seems to spear head it followed by Sean Hannity. Conservative internment camps, death panels, Obama isn't a U.S. citizen, and now this. Christ, how can anyone with a shred of integrity watch a channel that proliferates such outright lies? I mean I understand being in the tank for your candidate...but deliberately broadcasting blatant disinformation. People need to talk about this. Where are the whales the liberal media are spreading?

It's quite comical to listen to such wild accusations with no basis especially when the source originates overseas. Is it possible that it will cost the government of India hundreds of millions to host the President? Maybe, but that's their problem, not ours...unless that price tag does get billed to the U.S. Treasure. Now, it becomes our problem. But for now as things stand, I'm not giving in to or wild exaggerations. Show me the $200 million bill to the fed for this trip and I'm right there screaming right along with ya'.

My throat is a bit scratchy. After seeing that bill, can I just hold a sign or something?
He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear
