I brought this up yesterday, and it seems you don't like that some folks are speaking about it... or the timing. That's the difference... I don't like the content of the Yusuf's character. You don't like the messengers.

Libs find interest in the messenger and ridicule him... as for the perp... a man who believed the murder of another was OK because of what he wrote... He's cool. For the Libs... the terror supporter is not the focus... he skates free... is lauded. Some Peace Train.

I think that you will find that some conservatives think that everyone should want to live like they do and they think it strongly enough to want to enshrine it into law. They usually argue that government should not allow same sex marriage before and after they argue that government is infringing on their rights to... whatever (it's usually something that involves a penis substitute that is made of metal and goes boom).

Frankly, I have a very hard time understanding why it is anyone's business who does what to whom (sexually speaking). Since marriage is a contractual agreement providing certain inheritance and powers of attorney and does not, strictly speaking, have anything to do with sex, I don't understand why conservatives think that this particular kind of contract should be prevented by government. Would they like it if the government prevented a man loaning money to another man because this would be a contract between members of the same sex? I don't think so.

Anyway, this probably goes on another thread.

I'm fine with discussing the problem of this individual. I was disappointed that so many would use the rally to engage in liberal circle jerks while trying to appear "sane" in comparison with the other people in the "Beck" rally. In fact, I was in complete support not that long ago about William Ayers being continually exposed, and denied for his Dedications section on one of his works.

I even give you props for mentioning Bloom's work in your signature.

I'm merely questioning the timing of your post. If you are correct that you mentioned it yesterday, then I completely apologize for incorrectly suggesting the strange timing.

The Iraq war has been winding down for several years now and there is still no government there.

The problems we have today were caused by Wall Street and lack of oversight by the Bush administration.

I believe the next governor of Oregon will be former govenor John Kitzhaber (D) over former NBA basketball jock Chris Dudley(R).

Again, that is your opinion and nothing is going to change your mind. Democrats controlled Congress from 2007 on and were instrumental prior to that so don't give us that partisan stuff. Oregon is a mess financially with high unemployment. Remember the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

There is no evidence that the Republicans alone created this mess and what really bothers me is your inability to actually offer facts but instead actually ignore the facts. Frm 2003-2007 the Republicans Controlled the Congress and the legislative agenda. During that period there was 52 straight months of economic growth and job creation. 8.5 million jobs were created and the unemployment dropped. Democrats took over Congress in January 2007 because people like you bought the media rhetoric. So instead of passing on misinformation, you really need to do better research so that you aren't being made a fool of.

I really would love to know why you and others continue to believe the Obama rhetoric when he has yet to be right on any prediction and has lied over and over again. Your comments are right out of the Obama playbook and ignores the actual facts which I posted on the previous post. I don't understand what motivates people like you to continue to perpetuate those lies when the facts are so easy to find. Did you notice the employment numbers and all the jobs created before 2008? Did you notice the GDP growth and can you name another President that had a 4.5 trillion increase in GDP? So when you are told that Republicans created the disaster and you buy it only to be proven wrong why don't you have enough pride in yourself to admit you were wrong? So when the Stock markets and all of those companies went to hell well into the bush administration that was Obama's fault right? And so all of the unemployment that occured as a direct result of that is also his fault right?

You seem to have trouble determining the difference between causing and not fixing immediately.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Espeically the opening music and the Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow song. And the sincere message was a good one.

It has nothing to do with the topic of the OP.

Restore Sanity. Stop the Rhetoric. Stop the divisions, remember that the vast majority of people don't think along such dogmatic lines.

The rally wasnt fabulous in itself. It was really the showing up for a good cause, hearing a couple tunes and a few fun jokes and great signs and being with like minded people, as in, not right wing extremists. People seemed to hold back from having politically charged liberal signs. It was really civil.
