Rally to Restore Sanity attendance estimated at 215,000

I understand that you don't care about the sponsorships but what I care about is the message, all rhetoric that ignores substance. The results of the last two years are totally ignored as the left wants to portray it all about anger without substance. Why wouldn't the American people be angry with the results Obama has generated? Those that continue to support Obama buy the rhetoric and ignore the actual results.

Instead of inheriting the economy, Obama helped create it. Instead of "this mess" taking 8 years to develop, liberals ignore the economic results of 52 straight strong months of economic growth and job creation from 2003-2007. Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007 as people ignored the results to buy the rhetoric. Liberals hope for a repeat this time as they want people to ignore the results and buy the rhetoric.

The message of the rally had nothing to do with that. It was mainly focused on the polarizing and political theatrics and sensationalism that the media on both sides engages in.

Right, and it should have focused in the results, for results matter, not rhetoric.

Yes, him, and Ozzy Osbourne are going to take over the world for Islam

He was OK with the Fatwa on Rushdie's head.
Ok with you? No insanity there? You OK with freedom of speech turning into a death sentence?

Yes folks, we need a rally to restore sanity.

.

So wait Conservative.. let me get this straight, you attempt to McCarthy this rally with a list of sponsors from a completely unrelated event that happened a month prior. It appears you possibly do not even know which rally is being discussed if you don't even have a clue on such "minor" details, and now you are making statements as to what the message should have focused on?

Do you have the faintest clue what the message was, or even which rally is being discussed?

Which has exactly what to do with him singing "Peace Train" at the rally?

You are right, I got the rallies confused but not the message. It is the message that trumps actual results at both of these rallies. Results matter a lot more than rhetoric which of course both rallies ignored. It is about keeping the liberal based blind to actual results. Let's see if it works.

Divide 87,000 into 215,000 = ???
:2funny::2funny:

2.5

Glenn who?:2wave:

For some reason people in this thread have some sappy pov of this rally. It was half about bashing the insanopaths on TV. Meaning Glenn, who is a source of 'fear' to any moderate was a direct target to most people there. Great time, I think the estimate is low. It took hours to take the metro out of town and the streets were packed coming and going. **** Glenn Beck.

None of that had anything to do with the reason he was at the rally. He was their to sing his song Peace Train, not to bring jihad to the world.

And stuff like that in the bold is the most dangerous threat to free speech. Though I'll defend your right to say that crap.

What was the message at the rally Saturday?

edit for a hint: the OP in this thread is contradictory to it.

We had one. It was last weekend.

Looked to me like it was the rally of the insane, you know the people that do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result? If you continue to vote the "liberal" agenda and expert different results you are definitely insane.

Wasn't it the Bush-Chenney administration running our country for 8 of the last 10 years? That didn't work out to well. By your own logic, shouldn't we try voting for democrats for at least the next 6 years, in order to avoid "doing the same thing over again?"

Maybe you ought to tell Stewart

"I'm really happy you're here, even if none of us are really quite sure why we're here," Stewart said. "So, uh, what exactly was this? ... I can’t control what people think this was. I can only tell you my intentions." and then went on not to tell his intentions were.

sounded to me like a protest rally of the 60's but this time the people protesting actually have their leadership in charge of the country thus don't have a clue.

There it goes, this thread has became a partisan piss party. Way to feed the monster there

Only if you want to ignore the results from 2003-2007 when there was 52 months of strong economic growth and job creation. The people bought the rhetoric that you are trying to sell the public today and the results speak for themselves. Democrats took control of Congress and were more interested in regaining the WH than working to prevent the recession they helped create.

Did you see GW Bush throw out the first pitch last night in Arlington and the reception he got? Did you see the Ohio Polls that have Bush more popular today than Obama? The American people have "buyer's remorse" and we will see that reality tomorrow.

I read it and see the party for what it really was. In spite of the Stewart goal the rally was co-opted and became political. I actually like Jon Stewart but the reality is those that attended did so with different intent that Stewart had thus the first line is really the key one.

How does that "co-opt" the rally?

Stewarts message didn't change because of any signs people held up. The message stayed the same, and like I said about Becks rally, the message is all that matters. Niether message was political.

Why do you hate peoples freedom and rights to hold up signs they wanna hold up?

You have yet to show how it was actually "co-opted".

There were no political signs at the Beck Rally which actually did what it was supposed to do, restore honor and it was all about honor. This turned into a political rally showing how insane liberals really are.

I have no problem with freedom of speech and the right to hold signs but call it what it really was, a politcal rally of the insane!

Yep. Ok bud. Whatever you say.

Btw... just wanted to ask. Where was honor lost? And why did a guy called Glenn Beck have to restore it?

You know what. Nevermind. That was Rhetorical and exposes the delusions of those who support that entire train of thought.

All you had to do was watch the Restoring Sanity rally to see where the honor was lost or the Oct 4 rally OneNationTogetehr and see what honor was lost. You choose not to see so watch the elections tomorrow and maybe that will wake you up to the feelings of the majority in this country.
