You wouldn't like the outcome of that vote.......sorry.
What makes you so cocksure, to coin an unfortunate phrase? Or perhaps you have an idea based on the fact that the wrong people would be polled.

As usual when it comes to the military DD is clueless..........No one is asking anyone if they are gay.....That is what DON'T ASK means.........

The results of the pentagon study are already known. The men/women of the military by an overwhelming percentage say that they have no problem with gays serving openly in the military.

Face it.....people with the mentality that you embrace are slowly dying out. Its a new world.

So....Navy...let me ask you this then. Its ok for people like you to run around in the military "bragging" about boinking another man's wife while her husband is away on leave serving the country.....but a gay person can't even say "I'm gay" without violating DADT.

How does this hypocrisy further the value of our military?

Pentagon Survey: 70% of active duty troops don't care if DADT is repealed.

    Let's have the vote today.

Put that claim to the test.

    Let's have the vote today.
On the proviso that SOLDIERS are the ones voting, not pigging politicians with out-of-kilter PC dogma. (And even then, if the bill goes through, that gay and non-gay divisions are created to serve everyone, as with the smoking places until recently.)

Depends if you frequent the political bubbles of your masters or get out there amongst everyday people with varying everyday thoughts.

Take your condescension elsewhere. The very fact your kind always feel the need to trumpet how inferior the 'heretics' are only proves there are more of us than they would like.

Absolutely. And only active duty soldiers, not retired veterans who are no longer fighting.

Their fellow soldiers/marines/sailors ask, maybe not directly, but it's not like everyone just talks about what their job is going to be like that day. Most servicemembers talk to each other about friends, families, and relationships. It is natural, especially when people are spending months at a time together.

Common conversations would include if someone is dating anyone special or talking about how good a girl/guy looks. If a guy is gay and another servicemember asks him if he is dating anyone, he could honestly answer yes without violating DADT. However, if he is asked a more specific question about a girl he might be dating or for more details, then the gay guy would have to lie or decline to answer to avoid violating DADT, where as if the same guy was straight he could easily answer with no fear of being "discovered" and possibly kicked out, just for talking about a person they are dating. And straight guys and girls can have and show pics of themselves kissing boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives, whereas, gay guys and girls can't without chancing having the wrong person see them and the possibility of being kicked out. Straight soldiers can share wedding photos with anyone, including posting them online, without any fear whatsoever of being kicked out for such things. Gay soldiers can't. Straight soldiers can invite their significant others to service balls and dance and be an open couple. The significant other could honestly answer questions about their relationship, if he/she wanted to. Gay soldiers would have to hide their relationship they might have with a "friend" they took to a service ball (if they could bring the person at all). And their significant other, if able to come, would not be able to honestly answer any questions about the relationship. And by relationship questions, I am referring to even innocent questions like how long the couple has been together, where they think the relationship may go, if they want to have/raise children, if they've met each other's family, etc. These are some types of questions that my husband's Marine buddies and chain of command asked me while at a Marine Corps ball when we first started dating.

Re: 95% of Marines uncomfortable serving with openly gay troops

One unconsidered aspect in all of this is that if gays were in the army and unemcumbered, might they feel a huge sexual and social frustration anyway?

A Liberal utopia would be be for the 'rainbow' guys to talk about their botty chums without anybody caring or being disgusted. But even in that case, what about the homos boxed up in the barracks with all those butch guys every night and not being able to take any? I believe there are even strict rules on man-woman things in the services.

At least in the outside world there are magazines, club scenes and special alternate universes to thrive in. You'd have to bring all that on-site as well.
