A union member fired for U.S.S. George W. Bush shirt...

He wasn't fired? So he's still working then?

He probably just got sent home for that one gig. At least that is how the stage hands union works here in Texas.

So he didn't get fired?

It's still wrong that they sent him home for wearing that shirt. The point is that they sent the guy home for wearing a non-political shirt that mentioned the USS George H.W. Bush.

Yes. I guess I'm still part of the faux outrage crowd.

Perhaps it was wrong, but people make the wrong choices all the time. It's no big deal and doesn't deserve all the attention it recieved. Where I work if you wear clothing that disrupts work you can be sent home. The guy knew wearing the shirt at an Obama event would cause a commotion. That's why he wore it. It got all the attention he was looking for.

So you are outraged that he got sent home and paid for doing nothing?

It was a response based on your own use of the phrase. I'm not outraged but if I could muster up enough rage over it, it wouldn't be faux.

Would you like a cup of coffee?

Sorry. It's just that everyone attacked me for not instantly jumping on the bandwagon and instead waiting for the truth to come out.

I'm not sure "everybody" jumped on you, but your opinion of the situation is just as valid as any other opinion.:peace

The union worker said he was fired. And it seems he was....from that job. My "outrage" hasn't changed. And I get really tired of people claiming people are fake, their opinions are fake or their feelings are fake. Can we move past that stupid debate tactic, please?

The reporter is the one that said he was fired. In the interview the guy said he was told to turn it inside out or go home.

Actually, unions can fire (and underpay) their own employees much more easily than the companies who hire their members. Usually because their own employees are rarely . . . unionized.

How freaking ironic is that! A union membership cn protect you from getting fired by everyone but the union!

It was for the person the ship was named after. The guy wore it to irritate the Obama supporters. It backfired on him now he is crying like a baby.

He wore it to show support for his son, serving on that shio. Too bad that kind of love and support seems beyond your comprehension.

He wasn't fired, he was given a choice. He wanted to be on TV so he refused to turn his shirt inside out.

Wait... that's a pretty big IMAGE OF A SHIP there chief... weren'y YOU the one who said all you could see from a distance was BUSH?

Nice try, but :failpail:

So he was just sent home and still got paid for the day. I guess you really can't believe everything you see on the internet. Time to put all that faux outrage on the back burner. You folks sure are good for a few laughs.

Doesn't say anything like that in the linked article.

Fail? You could read the BUSH 50 feet away. You could not tell what the picture was at that distance. You fail. The guy knew exactly what he was doing, got the exact reaction he was looking for and you guys just eat it up.

He never said he was fired. The reporter put those words in his mouth. He just said he was sent home and the first thing he did was contact the media. Watch the interview.

Sent home, fired, minor details! Doesn't matter!
